Also the bhūta beings. Some have human heads and animal bodies. Some are intensely harmed by weapons. They appear to be separated from their bodies. This means they harm with various weapons and delight in blood. They are agitated and attached to desire. They are completely encircled by strings of intestines. This means they delight in the five desirable qualities and disturb the mind. Their limbs are adorned with strings of human intestines. They intensely pierce with three-pronged spears and harm living beings. This means those terrifying bhūta beings are also devoid of compassion. They exhale unbearable breaths and frighten these beings. This means they have large necks and loud voices. That sound frightens sentient beings. As many as there are kinds of living beings, they appear in various forms. This means they appear in the forms of fish and other sentient beings, and many different forms appear. Some hold mountains. Others hold swords and wheels. This means they are powerful and able to carry Mount Meru. They harm with sharp weapons. Their number is hundreds and thousands. They threaten with clubs and are fierce. This means the bhūta beings dwell in large groups and inflict great punishments on sentient beings. They have small eyes and unpleasant faces. The teeth of the rākṣasas are sharp. This means their faces are unpleasant, and their mouths and teeth are crooked. They have cut off noses and ears, cut off tongues, and wrinkled faces. This means they appear ugly, and their senses are incomplete. They have cut off legs and arms, and the rākṣasas have cut off heads. This means they have no heads, and their faces appear from their chests. Faces also appear on their joints. They diligently seek opportunities. They rob the splendor of the sinful. This means they seek opportunities for sentient beings, are endowed with sinful minds, and rob the splendor of sentient beings. In the bodies of humans, they appear as extremely subtle demons. This means they enter the bodies of humans and cause them to have unpleasant minds and deceitful minds. In the spaces between hairs and in diseases, and likewise in the openings of wounds. This means they grasp the spaces between hairs and cause those without wounds to have wounds.
