and becoming omniscient, and holding omniscience, and doing the work of omniscience. This is called the perfection of generosity. These four words should be related to the beginning, habit, body, and homogeneity in order. Among them, the beginning is that it arises from omniscience, and it is for the sake of completely dedicating the arising roots of virtue to this. Generosity is instilled as a habit in the continuum, and from this it will become omniscience in the future. When this is completely perfected, it holds omniscience in the manner of accomplishing the Dharmakaya. After that, with the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya as homogeneous causes, it does the work of omniscience. It should be understood in the same way up to the perfection of wisdom. Because the latter of the order depends on the former. The Bodhisattva who is accustomed to completely giving up all internal and external things due to the perfection of generosity, regardless of body and life, even if he abandons the great aggregate of enjoyment, will properly observe the precepts. Guarding the precepts means that even if scolded, he will not scold back, etc., and will become able to endure. Enduring cold, etc., is because the application of its foundation is not diminished, so it is the initiation of diligence. Initiating diligence is because the fruit of the ultimate application is obtained, so it is the practice of meditation. Meditation is perfect, and the mind abides equally, because it knows as it is, so it obtains wisdom that transcends the world. Moreover, the former is the basis of the latter. Discipline is the basis of generosity. Similarly, wisdom is the basis of meditation, up to wisdom. In this way, generosity with discipline, because it benefits with discipline and does not harm, generosity becomes pure. Thus, each recipient of the Bodhisattva, because he is free from various harms and is connected with comfortable equipment, should know that generosity becomes pure by the power of discipline. Thus, having patience is taught by those who harm others.
