This is the meaning of obtaining benefit for beings. If such benefits and so on can be accomplished, then what kind of activity will be accomplished in general? In this tantra, the activities are three, such as pacifying. As it is said in the tantra: Pacifying and increasing, Likewise, fierce action, In short, activities are of three kinds, Proclaimed from all mantras. Because it is said like this. In order to show that those can be accomplished, pacifying and so on are spoken of. Pacifying means what makes sins and so on disappear. Increasing means what makes enjoyment and so on increase. Making all sentient beings stiff means making the malicious ones effortless. Making faint means what makes memory lose. Here it is shown that if someone encounters obstacles such as the road, the practitioner should wear white clothes and so on in the white area, collect white utensils and so on, and with these, perform pacifying activities with a pacifying mind, then great pacifying will be accomplished. If someone wants to increase life and so on, they should wear yellow clothes and so on, collect yellow utensils and so on, and perform increasing activities, then increasing will be accomplished. If someone wants to perform fierce activities against meat eaters and so on, they should wear black clothes and so on in the black area, collect black utensils and so on, and perform manifest activities with a hateful mind, then stiffness and so on will be accomplished, which is the meaning of this. Like this, how many lineages will this action tantra become? There are three lineages, such as the Tathagata lineage. Which lineage does this tantra belong to? This is the Vajra lineage, because it shows fierce activities. Among them, it is also said in the tantra: The Sugata performs pacifying, Increasing is born from the Lotus lineage, The Vajra lineage speaks of mantras, Performs fierce actions. If it is said like this, does it contradict what was said before? Each lineage can perform three activities, so there is no contradiction. As it is said in the tantra: The wise in all three lineages, Shows excellence and so on, With the distinction of pacifying and so on, Activities are of three kinds.

It should be done like this. It is taught in this way. If it is said that there is a contradiction, then this is considered from the main aspect of the meaning. That is, in the tantras, it is said: In the manner of an introduction, those mantras that are spoken, those mantras themselves are taught as the main content, and the rest should be understood elsewhere. It is said like this. If you are not satisfied with just that, then it is your own fault, and there is no fault in me. Very verbose explanation ends here. Now let's get to the point, then, by whose power and by whom are those mantras with such power taught? Therefore, the great power of mantras and so on are spoken. Mantra refers to the ability to shield the minds of those who are not sacred, causing them to retreat. For example, it is said in the tantras: Because it can protect the mind, it is called the nature of mantra. It is said like this. This great power refers to the ability to perform many actions. By the power of the Buddha, it refers to what was said before. Vajrapani has spoken very well, which refers to how the empowerer of the special name of some bodhisattvas expresses the meaning? This shows that these mantras, which are fully equipped with the merits mentioned above, are also spoken by Vajrapani through the blessings of the Buddha, and are not spoken arbitrarily by oneself. Otherwise, it will also become a fault of repetition. The lord of secrets, having spoken such powerful mantras, then to whom should one prostrate first? In order to explain this, it is said: Namo (Tibetan: ན་མོ།, Devanagari: नमः, Romanized Sanskrit: namo, literal meaning: prostration) Ratna (Tibetan: རཏྣ།, Devanagari: रत्न, Romanized Sanskrit: ratna, literal meaning: jewel) Trayaya (Tibetan: ཏྲ་ཡཱ་ཡ།, Devanagari: त्रयाय, Romanized Sanskrit: trayāya, literal meaning: three) and so on. Here, one prostrates to the common and uncommon Three Jewels. Namo (Tibetan: ན་མོ།, Devanagari: नमः, Romanized Sanskrit: namo, literal meaning: prostration) Shchanda (Tibetan: ཤྩཎྚ།, Devanagari: श्चण्ड, Romanized Sanskrit: ścaṇḍa, literal meaning: fierce) Vajra (Tibetan: བཛྲ།, Devanagari: वज्र, Romanized Sanskrit: vajra, literal meaning: vajra) Panaye (Tibetan: པཱ་ཎ་ཡི།, Devanagari: पाणये, Romanized Sanskrit: pāṇaye, literal meaning: hand) Maha (Tibetan: མཧཱ།, Devanagari: महा, Romanized Sanskrit: mahā, literal meaning: great) Yaksha (Tibetan: ཡཀྵ།, Devanagari: यक्ष, Romanized Sanskrit: yakṣa, literal meaning: yaksha) Senapataye (Tibetan: སེནཱ་པ་ཏ་ཡེ།, Devanagari: सेनापतये, Romanized Sanskrit: senāpataye, literal meaning: army chief) refers to prostrating to Vajrapani, the leader of the yaksha army who can fulfill all wishes and possesses fierce anger. This shows that practitioners, in order to increase merit and accomplish actions, should prostrate in this way at the beginning of reciting mantras. Such is the meaning. After prostrating in this way, what does one do? The Blessed One himself, the realm of dharma.
