When it becomes manifest, contemplate that extremely pure mercury merges into the gold dust. Then, again, through the nature of the oneness of the deity and self, rays of light radiate from the nectar of the moon, clearly manifesting the form of the supreme deity, and the yoga of self and non-duality, and meditate with its pride. Rising from the conceptualization of meditation, bless the limbs with mudras such as the crown of the head and the topknot, and meditate on the deity with conceptualization. This is temporarily the order of meditating on the consciousness of the common mantra. Those other ways that are spoken of in some places should also be applied in the same way. Now, exhorting with the consciousness of these six mantras themselves is the characteristic of thinking. By manifesting the samadhi of how the form of the deity of meditation and the non-duality of self are contemplated, it is shown to focus for a long time and appear clearly. It is said in the sutra: 'Having gathered, abide in samadhi.' Here it is also related to the self, therefore it will become 'Having gathered the self, abide in samadhi.' Among them, gathering the self means that mindfulness, life, and diligence do not stray to the form of the deity to be meditated upon. Abiding in samadhi means abiding in samadhi, because it abides equally with the characteristic of focusing on samadhi with one-pointedness, so it is abiding in samadhi, which is the distinction of the self. Then understand it like this: generating the yoga of the deity of two forms and the non-duality of self, that is, through meditation and samadhi. Among them, meditation is the characteristic of thinking, that is, the nature of first contemplating the self-nature of the object to be thought about. Samadhi is the nature of the object examined by meditation becoming the object, from which it is separated from the play of conceptualization, focusing with one-pointedness, the nature of non-conceptualization, unspeakable, only the nature of becoming the object in meaning. Therefore, at first, only meditating on consciousness with the letters of the six mantras, the characteristic of thinking is the self with meditation.

That suchness, having discriminated into the form of a deity, and also that self-nature which is contemplated as the form of a deity, being intensely cultivated with samadhi as being non-different, is shown by the term called "abiding in the samadhi that illuminates." When obtaining samadhi, it is evident that verses for restraining the self are necessary. Even when entering into meditation, it is necessary to restrain the self, but when manifesting samadhi in this way, desiring to restrain the self, it is not so when manifesting meditation. Why is that? Because the characteristic of meditation is considered to be the aspect of a mind that initially cognizes the object of meditation itself. Therefore, meditation is the nature of discriminating the self into various forms, so even if the self is not restrained in that, the meditation of the nature of thinking and discriminating in various ways will not become completely non-existent. Samadhi is focusing on a definite object after discriminating with meditation, therefore it is said that samadhi is one-pointedness of mind. That is indeed the non-dual nature. Therefore, if one restrains oneself in the suchness of the self, how can one achieve samadhi? Because the suchness of the deity has become the self, where else would the mind wander, so it will not become one-pointed. Therefore, it is said to abide in samadhi after restraining. The said restraining, one also does not know how to restrain, therefore it is said, "Restrain life and effort extremely well." Therein, life and effort are life and effort. Because the self abides in the samadhi of the suchness of the deity, that which restrains those two is called the self that restrains life and effort extremely well. Therein, what is called life is the wind that arises from and enters into the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, navel, genitals, female organs, impure orifices, pores of hair and body hair. Restraining that is also, in this context, preventing arising and entering. By this, the suchness of my body and the body of the deity are non-dual, and as the place of contemplation is, as it is, the entering and arising of wind are variously prevented, and with the wind that draws upwards, like a turtle contracting its body, like a tongue drinking water.
