That which merely appears, the nature of awareness called "I" is like that. Without that, it appears as the subtle essence of complete liberation. Now, the suchness of self is the nature of wisdom, shown without sinking and excitement, called "immovable clarity." Among them, immovable means unmoving and unchanging. This also refutes the yogi of wisdom's excitement, who is accustomed to the discriminating thoughts of distinguishing dharmas, and whose mind is agitated and has not subsided, the characteristic of excitement. Therefore, the immovability of the mind is said to be close to the path of pacification. Similarly, clarity means clear, meaning free from faults such as dullness. This also refutes the yogi who merely abides in one place, who, even when distinguishing dharmas, maintains excessive equanimity, the characteristic of the mind sinking into dullness, becoming an unfavorable aspect of distinguishing dharmas. Thus, the suchness of self is without limbs, without objects, without form, without appearance, immovable, and clear. Although it is the nature of experiential reality, it is considered that the path of discrimination has not been abandoned, so it is said, "The discrimination of wisdom is in front." Wisdom is prajna. Its object of its own realm is discrimination, that is, the discrimination of wisdom. That discrimination of wisdom is the nature of the appearance of wisdom, and that which abides in front of the suchness of self is the discrimination of wisdom. Therefore, it is said that even though the self-aware nature is non-discriminating, the appearance of wisdom still proceeds to discriminate in front. Although wisdom is inseparable from the suchness of self, it is still said to abide in front of the suchness of self, like the example of appearance. So, what does this reveal? Just as appearance has already appeared, and those with eyes can see the appearing things. Thus, in order to show the formless, appearance-less, immovable, extremely bright, self-aware nature, the suchness of self, which is liberated from the discriminating nature of the grasper and the grasped, a conclusion is made. Such a self

"Having Placed" is said thus. "Suchness" refers to the characteristics mentioned earlier. "Having Placed" refers to "place of thought," which is called "place of thought" because it clarifies the self and common characteristics of all dharmas through reasoning. It will be explained below that one should practice the recitation of mantras. Now, in order to rise from the appearance of realizing one's own suchness and to show the suchness of the deity, one should meditate with the discriminating consciousness of mantra. One should restrain and abide in samadhi. One should completely restrain breath and effort. It is said thus. Among them, the discriminating thought of mantra includes wisdom with and without discrimination, as well as the differences of sound, letters, mudras, and colors, from which six kinds of deities arise. Such a discriminating consciousness focused on mantra is the discriminating consciousness of mantra. Determining and meditating on the discriminating consciousness of the aspect of mantra is meditating with the discriminating consciousness of mantra, which is related to the context of "self-nature." Therefore, one should understand it this way: when one wants to rise from the self-nature of non-discrimination, one's own suchness, then one should meditate on oneself with the six kinds of deity's self-nature, thinking of becoming the image of the deity's suchness. Among them, the method of meditating with the deity's essence is like this: just as my suchness is non-discriminating, formless, and pervades all directions, so is the mantra I desire. Therefore, these two are the same in all aspects. The appearance of the deity's non-discriminating wisdom merges into the appearance of my non-discriminating self-nature's true wisdom. Mine also merges into it like water and milk, therefore, we two are one, one should completely think like this. And, in the door of non-discriminating appearance, one should visualize oneself and the deity as one, generate pride, and in the absence of appearance, one should meditate on one's own awareness becoming very clear. Having risen from that, one should discriminate the sound of mantra. And, one should also visualize the form of the mantra's letters abiding in the sky. Those are also my suchness, the image of the lunar mandala.
