From the blessings of the elements, A, etc., gradually increase. Thus, from the essence of emptiness, the distinctions of letters such as A and I increase in multitude. This is said to arise from the essence dwelling in the mind. 'Self-arising' refers to the nature of the Bhagavan Samantabhadra, because it is not born of anyone. Vairochana, having manifestly attained perfect enlightenment, through various emanations and blessings, the practice of oneself is gradually revealed and expanded. Vairochana, having manifestly attained perfect enlightenment, through various emanations and blessings, the explanation of the ritual of the hundred-syllable mantra, which is gradually revealed, is not seen. This is to show the nature of the Tathagata Samantabhadra's enlightenment. Just as the sky, in all directions, does not constantly abide in everything. Likewise, the lord of secret mantras does not abide in all dharmas. Thus it is said. Just as the sky does not abide in directions such as south, north, east, and west, so too, the lord of mantras, the nature of ultimate truth, does not abide by focusing on dharmas such as form, nor does it abide through the door of what is to be focused on. Just as things are in the sky, abiding and constantly appearing, yet it does not become a place, so too is the lord of secret mantras. Just as objects of form appear to abide in the sky, yet the sky does not abide in those objects, so too, when the Tathagata manifestly attains enlightenment, various manifestations such as the inexhaustible body's vajra ornaments arise by its power, yet the nature of enlightenment does not abide through the door of focusing on those vajra ornaments such as the inexhaustible body. Just as the sky and the three times, etc., how one desires to be separated. Likewise, the lord of secret mantras, although without the three times, appears in various ways. Just as the sky does not change from one nature, thus transcending the three times, so too, the lord of mantras, the nature of Suchness, is also unchanging and completely accomplished, therefore, not abiding in the three times, yet the qualities of power and fearlessness, etc., appear.
