For each of them as appropriate, consider the distinctions of the ground. This means that ordinary worldly retinues, in the presence of the lama, should not have a lotus seat like the lama, but should take whatever lower seats are appropriate. The seats of the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and worldly gods are also discussed here, and it should be understood that these are discussed incidentally because they are not mentioned in this mandala. In the intermediate mandala, the worldly gods such as Yama are mentioned, also because they are entirely emanations of the body of the Tathagata, so they are suitable for lotus seats, but not ordinary worldly people. Offerings should be known as fourfold, from "Offerings should be known as fourfold" to "For other worldly gods, then in order" describes the offerings. In general, there are four kinds of offerings: folded palms, love, compassion, flowers and incense, and mental offerings. Among them, the mantra practitioner who has faith in the profound and vast mantra practices all four offerings, both mental and external offerings. The mantra practitioner with visualization only makes external offerings, because he cannot enter samadhi, so there is no mental offering. Love and compassion are diligent offerings, and having made any external or internal offering, one generates love and compassion for sentient beings, and dedicates those offerings to sentient beings. The external offerings have already been discussed. Now, here, the mental offering will be discussed, among which: flowers and incense are worldly, flowers arising from the fingers, etc. "Flowers arising from the fingers, etc." means that the flowers arising from folded palms should be offered to all protectors. In order to liberate that itself, having bound the mudra arising from all limbs, then meditate on bodhicitta. Thus it is said, the mental offering should also first, through the mudra I have bound, as thought, may clouds of offerings appear before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, having made this aspiration, abide in the samadhi of emptiness, so that the mind of enlightenment may manifest. Like that, samadhi

Even while abiding in (the ritual), one should recite the wisdom mantra of the Space Treasury in mind. Then, visualize that from that mudra, vast offerings as mentioned below rain down like showers. If one visualizes in this way, then by the blessing of the Dharmadhatu, the power of Samadhi, and the strength of mantra, at that time, it will rain down like showers before the Buddhas. Therefore, one should speak words of praise such as "This is a flawless flower." As for other mundane deities, from "the deities" to "how to properly contemplate," it speaks of the order of offering external offerings such as flowers to the deities painted with colors in the mandala. After blessing with their respective mantras, first offer to the Tathagata family such as the Bhagavan Vairochana Buddha, and then offer to the Lotus family and so on. Therefore, it is said, "How to properly contemplate." From "thumb and forefinger joined" to "other than that, the worldly deities, in order," it speaks of the method of offering the offerings. Among them, "thumb and forefinger joined" etc. speaks of offering flowers. "For the worldly deities, know from the navel," here it refers to the deities of the worldly painted mandala. For those deities, flowers should be offered from the navel. And for the transcendental mind mandala, it is said to be offered from the heart. Incense, either with a vajra fist or with a lotus garland, held in the sky, offer to the protectors of the world. This means that when offering incense, one forms the vajra fist mudra, or forms the lotus hand mudra. The censer is held with the vajra fist mudra, and the incense is held with the lotus hand mudra, visualizing with the mind, praising the deities of the mandala in the sky, holding and offering. For the deities of the painted mandala, it is said to offer sequentially from the navel. Therefore, it is said, "Other than that, the worldly deities, in order." Due to the difference between inner and outer, there are two types of fire offerings.
