Through the blessing of the letters that are the nature of the Buddha's body, this pigment will symbolize the Dharmadhatu, and because its taste is one, it is called the taste of the Dharmadhatu. Thus, the blessing of the letters should also be observed in the context of the mandala of the revolving letters. Pigments should be poured from the inside. From the outside, pigments should not be poured. This is the answer to the question, "How should pigments be poured?" which means that the mantra practitioner enters the mandala and smears inward, and the pigments are poured. White should be applied first. Below it is red. Then yellow should be applied. Below it, apply green. In the midst of all is black. The ritual of pigments is thus explained. This is the answer to both the question, "What should be applied first?" and the initial question, "What is pigment?" The intention of pouring the pigments in this way is that the white pigment is the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Thus, after becoming the Dharmadhatu, through the door of skillful means, with compassion that benefits sentient beings, apply the red color that is the nature of attachment to sentient beings. After that, the benefit of sentient beings will increase, and the yellow color that is the sign of increase will be applied. After such increase, one will be able to accomplish everything, therefore, below it, apply the green color, which is all colors. Thus, if one is able to accomplish all actions, then to subdue the violent and unruly, apply the black color that is the sign of manifest action, and applying it in the midst of all is for the sake of secrecy. Furthermore, the sequence of blessing the body of the Tathagata, etc., should be observed in the mandala of the revolving letters. "The measure of the horse-landing is also, from 'Fearless ones, etc., gradually arise, know that it is superior to that,' the horse-landing, etc., as well as, the measure of the door rings, what should be the measure of the door? Please, Lord, explain." is the answer to the question. "The measure of the horse-landing is also, the same as the center of the mandala." That is, the measure of the field of the horse-landing should be the same as the face of the essential mandala.
