རྒྱ་གར་སྐད་དུ་ཚ་བ་ལ་ཏ་པ་ཞེས་བྱ། དཀའ་ཐུབ་ལ་ཡང་ཏ་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་སྟེ་སྐད་མཐུན་པས་དཔེར་བྱའོ། །འདམ་གྱི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན་གང་བདག་གི་ཉེས་པས་གཞན་ལ་སྐུད་བའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་འདམ་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ་འདམ་ནི་བདག་གི་ངོ་བོ་ངན་པ་དེ་གཞན་ལ་བསྒོས་ནས་ཆགས་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་རང་གི་ཉེས་པ་གཞན་ལ་གོས་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ཆོས་བསྟན་པར་བྱེད་པའོ། །རྙོག་པའི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གང་ཕ་རོལ་གྱི་ཉེས་པ་འཛིན་པས་སེམས་ལ་རྙོག་པ་སྐྱེས་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་རྙོག་པ་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ། གཞན་གྱི་ཉེས་པས་བདག་གི་སེམས་འཁྲུགས་པར་བྱེད་པའོ། །ཚོན་རྩིའི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གང་དེ་ལ་ཆགས་པ་ཉིད་དུ་བསྟེན་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ཚོན་རྩི་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ། ཚོན་དཀར་པོའམ་དམར་པོ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཁ་དོག་ནི་གང་ལ་བསྐུས་པ་དེ་ཚོན་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་རང་བཞིན་དུ་འགྱུར་ཏེ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་དངོས་པོ་གང་བསམས་པ་དེ་ལ་ཞེན་ནས་ཇི་ལྟར་བསམས་པ་དེའི་རང་བཞིན་དུ་འགྱུར་བའི་ཆོས་བསྟེན་པའོ། །ཤིང་ལེབ་ཀྱི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གང་དགེ་བ་གཞན་སྤོང་བས་བསྟེན་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ཤིང་ལེབ་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ། ཤིང་ལེབ་ནི་མཚོན་ལ་སོགས་པ་གཞན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མི་ཕིགས་པར་སྐྱོབ་པའི་བྱ་བ་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་དགེ་བ་གཅིག་སྤྱད་པས་དགེ་བ་གཞན་སྒྲིབ་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ཆོས་བསྟེན་པར་བྱེད་པའོ། །ནོར་བའི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གཞན་གཟུང་ཞིང་གཞན་ཁོ་ནར་སེམས་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ནོར་བའི་རང་བཞིན་གྱི་སེམས་ཏེ་གང་གི་དངོས་པོ་ཟིན་ཏེ་ནོར་ནས་གཞན་ཡིན་སྙམ་དུ་སེམས་པའོ། །དུག་གི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གང་ཤིན་ཏུ་དངོས་པོ་མེད་བ་ཉིད་ སེམས་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་དུག་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ། དུག་ནི་གང་གིས་ཟིན་ན་ཤི་སྟེ་མེད་པར་འགྱུར་བའོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་གང་ལྟ་བ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཉོན་མོངས་རྣམས་སྤངས་ནས་སླར་མི་སྐྱེ་བས་མེད་པར་བྱེད་པའོ། །ཞགས་པའི་སེམས་གང་ཞེན་གང་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་བདག་ཉིད་བཅིངས་ཤིང་འདུག་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ཞགས་པ་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ། ཞགས་པ་ནི་འཆིང་བའི་བྱ་བ་བྱེད་དོ། །དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་བདག་ཉིད་འཆིང་བར་བྱེད་པའི་ཆོས་བསྟེན་པར་བྱེད་པའོ། །ལྕགས་སྒྲོག་གི་སེམས་གང་ཞེ་ན། གང་རྐང་པ་གཉིས་ལ་འདུག་སྟེ་སེམས་པའོ་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ལྕགས་སྒྲོག་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཏེ་ལྕགས་སྒྲོག་ནི་རྐང་པ་གཉིས་འཛིན་པར་བྱེད་དེ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་དེ་ཡང་ཡོད་པ་དང་མེད་པའི་ཚིག་གི་མཐའ་གཉིས་འཛིན་པའི་ཆོས་བསྟེན་པའོ།

在印度语中,热被称为塔帕(tapa)。苦行也称为塔帕(tapa),因为发音相同,所以用作例子。什么是泥土之心?就是用自己的过错去玷污别人的心,这就像泥土一样,泥土把自己不好的本质沾染给其他东西,使之变得污浊。同样,这种心也会把自己的过错沾染给别人。什么是污浊之心?就是抓住别人的过错,使自己的心产生污浊,这就像污浊的东西一样,别人的过错会扰乱自己的心。什么是颜料之心?就是执着于某种事物,这就像颜料一样,白色或红色等颜料涂在什么东西上,那个东西就会变成颜料的颜色。同样,这种心也会执着于所想的事物,变成所想事物的性质。什么是木板之心?就是舍弃其他善行,这就像木板一样,木板可以保护东西不被其他东西刺穿。同样,这种心也会因为行持一种善行而遮蔽其他善行。什么是错误的(颠倒的)心?就是抓住其他东西,并且只认为是其他东西,这就是颠倒的心的性质,抓住一个东西,错误地认为是其他东西。什么是毒药之心?就是完全认为事物不存在,这就像毒药一样,谁沾染上毒药就会死亡,变成不存在。同样,这种心也会舍弃见等烦恼,不再产生,从而使之消失。什么是绳索之心?就是把自己束缚在一切事物中,这就像绳索一样,绳索具有束缚的作用。同样,这种心也会把自己束缚起来。什么是铁链之心?就是停留在两种极端上思考,这就像铁链一样,铁链会抓住双脚。同样,这种心也会抓住有和无两种极端的说法。

It is the mind that smears others with one's own faults, just like mud, which contaminates other things with its bad essence, making them turbid. Similarly, this mind also shows the characteristic of contaminating others with its own faults. What is the turbid mind? It is the mind that grasps the faults of others, causing turbidity in the mind, just like turbid things, the faults of others disturb one's own mind. What is the paint-like mind? It is the mind that clings to something, just like paint, when white or red paint is applied to something, that thing becomes the color of the paint. Similarly, this mind also clings to whatever object it thinks about, and becomes the nature of what it thinks about. What is the wooden board-like mind? It is the mind that abandons other virtues, just like a wooden board, which protects things from being pierced by other things. Similarly, this mind also shows the characteristic of obscuring other virtues by practicing one virtue. What is the mistaken (inverted) mind? It is the mind that grasps other things and only thinks of them as other things, this is the nature of the inverted mind, grasping one thing and mistakenly thinking it is another. What is the poison-like mind? It is the mind that completely thinks that things do not exist, just like poison, whoever is contaminated by poison will die and become non-existent. Similarly, this mind also abandons afflictions such as views, and no longer arises, thereby making them disappear. What is the rope-like mind? It is the mind that binds itself to all things, just like a rope, which has the function of binding. Similarly, this mind also shows the characteristic of binding itself. What is the iron chain-like mind? It is the mind that stays and thinks on two extremes, just like an iron chain, which holds the two feet. Similarly, this mind also shows the characteristic of grasping the two extremes of existence and non-existence.
