Since the letters, which are the nature of the bodies of all Buddhas, have been blessed, this paint will symbolize the Dharmadhatu, and the single taste is called the taste of the Dharmadhatu. Likewise, the blessing of the letters should also be viewed at the time of the mandala of the wheel of letters. Paint should be applied from the inside, not from the outside. This is the answer to the question, "What is paint like?" The practitioner enters the mandala and applies and writes the paints inside. First apply white, then red below it, then yellow, then blue below it, and black inside everything. Thus, the method of applying paint is explained. This is the answer to the question, "What should be applied first?" and "Why is it called paint?" The initial question and answer are given together. The intention of applying the paints in this way is as follows: White is the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Thus, below the Dharmadhatu, the compassion that benefits sentient beings through the door of skillful means is the nature of red, which is attachment to sentient beings. Below that, the benefit of sentient beings increases, which is the sign of increase, and yellow is applied. Thus, below the increase, everything can be accomplished, so green, which is all colors, is applied below that. Thus, if all actions can be accomplished, the manifestation of subduing the wicked is black, and everything is applied inside, for the sake of secrecy. Furthermore, it should be viewed in the mandala of the wheel of letters in the order of blessing the body of the Tathagata, etc. From "the measure of the horse step" to "courage gradually increases," it is the answer to the question, "the measure of the horse step, and the door ring is also the same, and the door should also be known, the protector said that their measures are the same." The measure of the horse step should be the measure of the center of the mandala. This means that the measure of the width of the horse step should be equal to the surface of the core mandala. The door ring is equal to the lotus, set at sixteen fingers.

The foundation should also be equal to the threshold, i.e., equal to the size of the horse path. First, the knowledge of the doors should be understood, equal to the mandala, and generated from it. The so-called "increasing with courage" means: The inner mandala's door should be equal to the sixteen fingers wide of the lotus heart essence. The outside of it should be increased by four fingers wide. The outer layer should also be increased by four fingers wide. Like this, it should be gradually increased. The so-called "in the intervals of the doors, the gatekeepers should be placed" means that on the inner and outer sides of the mandala door, the gatekeepers mentioned below should be placed. The gatekeepers of Shakyamuni Buddha have already been completely described, so the ones that appear below will not be repeated. The gatekeepers of Bhagavan Vairochana Buddha are also, "difficult to subdue and manifest," these two have already been completely described, so in the forms that appear below, the ones not mentioned by name should be placed. Contentment of mind is samadhi, briefly speaking, that's it, this is the answer to "how to realize samadhi." The so-called samadhi, its characteristic is one-pointedness of mind. And this is further divided into one-pointedness in the relative and ultimate truth. One-pointedness in the relative truth refers to focusing the mind on water and the Chakrasamvara mandala, etc. Ultimate truth refers to abandoning the object and subject, and focusing the mind on the nature of emptiness. Whichever it is, once samadhi reaches one-pointedness, the mind will not change, and it will be attached and satisfied, this is called contentment of mind, which is the general characteristic of samadhi. In particular, the great-minded one, listen with a focused mind. This sentence up to "therefore, in all forms, emptiness should be constantly remembered," is a special explanation of ultimate truth samadhi. That is, the samadhi of the Buddha and the samadhi of Samantabhadra. Among them, the samadhi of the Buddha refers to the emptiness samadhi of all Buddhas, as the Buddha said. The so-called emptiness refers to the aggregates, elements, and sources, etc., the state of phenomena from the beginning not arising and not being produced, or when decomposed into fine particles, etc., they do not exist, these as they truly appear.
