And gathering through the four ways of gathering, in order to lead to the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. The so-called "abandoning killing" means abandoning wrong views, which is to say the essence of the five precepts of the Bodhisattva. From "taking these five places of learning" to "learning with the complete grasp of skillful means and wisdom," it is praising those trainings, and learning in that way, one should not violate these four roots of downfall even for the sake of life. Combining them, the lay Bodhisattva, after learning these five trainings mentioned with faith, is the unsurpassed training of the Tathagata of the vessel, which is praised by the Tathagata, and is learning in accordance with the praised training. Why is that? Because the past Tathagatas also abide in the unconditioned aggregate of morality, and by completely grasping the conditioned morality with skillful means and wisdom, they learned and attained unsurpassed enlightenment. Therefore, learning in this way is called following them. The so-called "abiding in the unconditioned aggregate of morality" means abiding in the emptiness nature of all dharmas, which from the beginning have not arisen and have not been born. The so-called "conditioned morality" refers to the abandonment of killing, etc., which are mentioned by name. Therefore, the so-called "completely grasping with skillful means and wisdom" is the same as before. In that way, the disciple should not violate these four roots that appear by name below, even for the sake of life, and the explanation of these four has already been explained in the context of Samaya. Why is that? The so-called "that is impossible to restore" means that without these four, one cannot be called a Bodhisattva, and it is impossible to restore. The so-called "lacking skillful means and wisdom" means that the Tathagata is frightening, combined with skillful means and wisdom, the nature is affliction, and combined with "impossible to restore." Therefore, why is it said that way? Because the Buddhas of the past, and the Buddhas who will appear in the future, and the protectors who are now abiding, also learn with the complete grasp of wisdom and skillful means.

thereby attaining unsurpassed Bodhi. Therefore, if one does not possess these four conditions and lacks skillful means and wisdom, one will not attain unsurpassed Bodhi without diligent effort, so it is said to be irreversible. Since this is the case, because one does not possess skillful means and wisdom, it is said to be irreversible. If someone asks: Did I teach the disciples of the Hearers' Vehicle a teaching that does not possess skillful means and wisdom? The answer is: Teaching wisdom that does not possess skillful means to the Hearers' Vehicle is in order to gather those great heroes. That is to say, the teaching that I have revealed to the disciples of the Hearers' Vehicle, which does not possess skillful means and wisdom, is not revealed in the ultimate sense, but in order to tame their faculties and guide them. World Honored One, after being blessed from the Vajra Ornament Wheel of the inexhaustible body of the pure Dharma Body Vairocana Buddha, etc., when reciting mantras, first generally explained the four branches of outer and inner recitation. After that, in the chapter on the four essences of the Tathagata, the four branches of inner recitation were explained. Furthermore, in the chapter on the essence of the Great Hero, the three branches of inner recitation were explained, and these were also said to be accomplished by practicing with a fixed time as the number of recitations. Now, in the case of the Hundred Syllable Mantra, here too, it is not one branch of recitation, nor is it a practice with a fixed number and time. Rather, it is to explain the characteristics of recitation until the state of accomplishing the body of Samantabhadra Buddha is reached. Therefore, it should be known that these recitations are also just briefly explaining the stages of practice. The initial four branches of outer and inner recitation are coarse because both outer and inner are visualized. After that, the four branches of inner recitation do not visualize the Buddha's body outside, but cultivate by visualizing one's own mind as the body of the Tathagata within, so it is more subtle. Furthermore, in the chapter on the Great Hero, even the visualization of the Tathagata's body in the heart is abandoned, and instead, any mandala such as the Great Empowerment is visualized, and it is practiced as three branches, and through repeated practice, it becomes even more subtle. In the chapter on the Hundred Syllable Mantra, one abides in the samadhi of emptiness of self-nature, and only the sound of the heart mantra is made as the only branch, and through repeated practice, it should be known that all of the above become increasingly subtle. Among them, although the Hundred Syllable Mantra is also Samantabhadra, but
