It means not being controlled by afflictions. Entering there for the benefit of sentient beings, acting like one without attachment, is like being equal to gold and stone. This means that after rising from the Samadhi of emptiness, when engaging in conventional activities for the benefit of sentient beings, one realizes that conditioned phenomena are like illusions and does not become attached to them, just as one does not generate attachment to stones and clods of earth, one does not generate attachment to gold either. Acting without attachment wherever one dwells. That is to say, even when engaging in conventional activities, one acts in accordance with wisdom. As long as it is explained as a number, the practice of the number of mantras will be accomplished, and the asceticism will be perfected. This means that as long as one practices, the asceticism will be perfected. That is to say, the number of mantra recitations, such as three hundred thousand, as long as it is explained in the scriptures, as long as one practices the asceticism in the manner described above, it will be perfected. This refers to the asceticism with four characteristics of completely taming the mind before the asceticism in the mandala of the Great Powerful One, etc. From "Like the Great Powerful One" to "Abandoning gain and no gain," is the answer to the question of where to practice. This is to say that one practices the asceticism of wisdom while dwelling in the mandala of the Great Powerful One, etc. From "Like the Great Powerful One" to "Life and effort should be diligent," it is said that while dwelling in the mandala of the Great Powerful One, etc., one transforms oneself into the form of one's own deity. Just as the nature of the earth is hard and solid, one should also contemplate one's own body in this way, reciting and abiding for a month. This is to say, "Like the Great Powerful One, dwelling in the mandala of the Great Powerful One," is to say that one contemplates the seed syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A) of the Great Powerful One, the suchness of the sound that shows that all dharmas are unborn from the beginning, and from that very letter, the mandala of the Great Powerful One appears, contemplating it as before, and then transforming oneself into the form of one's own deity, forming the Vajra Mudra, like the nature of the Great Powerful One.

This is about meditating on being firm and stable. "After forming the Vajra mudra," this is to form the Vajra mudra in accordance with being firm and stable. "Food always drink milk," this is saying that food should also be corresponding, because after drinking milk, the body will become strong and hard. Just as in the world, the body is maintained by the mind and food, so here, if you eat food that makes the mind hard, you can correspond to the samadhi of great freedom. "The mantra practitioner recites for a month, earnestly with life and effort," this is saying that according to the way described before, restrain life and effort, and recite your own heart mantra for a month. "From then on, in the second month," until "At that time, food drink clear water," it is said to abide in the mandala of water, meditate on the suchness of the sound of the seed of the mandala of water, and from that seed, meditate on becoming the mandala of water, which should be done in order. Visualize your body as also appearing blue like the nature of water, form the lotus mudra, and recite for a month. Forming the lotus mudra and drinking clear water as food is also to correspond with this. "From then on, in the third month," until "Arising from body, speech, and mind," "Abiding in the mandala of fire, eat the food that is said," this is to correspond with fire. Just as fire burns without distinguishing between dry and wet, good and bad, etc., so too, one should not discriminate against deliciousness, etc., or objects of desire, but beg and eat. "Having the sword mudra," this is also in accordance with fire, just as fire burns and cuts off everything, so too, the sword cuts off and destroys all things. "Burning all sins, arises from the body itself," this is saying that if you abide in such samadhi and recite mantras, then from the karmic imprints of purifying sins through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, it will arise from contemplation. "In the fourth month, corresponding to wind," until "If the mind can endure, then recite the mantra," it is abiding in the mandala of wind for a month.
