Having done that, put on the armor, and recite "Om Vajra Samaya Hum" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र समय हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra samaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Vow, Hum), and the Vajra Tirintiri mudra (fingers crossed inwards, with both thumbs pressed together), the disciple holding a precious crown or a garland of flowers first prostrates to the teacher and then makes a request. After that, perform confession of sins, rejoicing in merit, taking refuge, generating Bodhicitta, making requests, taking vows, and so on. Then, the teacher visualizes the disciple as the nature of Vajrasattva, saying, "This is your water of hell. If the samaya is transgressed, it will burn. If the samaya is kept, then accomplishment will be achieved by this water of Vajra nectar." Recite "Om Vajra Samaya Hum" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र समय हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra samaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Vow, Hum) and so on. Then, descend wisdom. For this, there is also the teacher's descent, the lineage's descent, the Tathagata's descent, and the fire offering's descent. If it is not descended by that, then empowerment should not be given. Then, ask about the appearance of the eyes, and then with this, the face covering should be removed, reciting "The king of ophthalmologists of the past" and so on, and recite "Om Vajra Hasya Uದ್ghataya Hum" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཧཱ་སྱོད་གྷ་ཊ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र हास्योद्घटय हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra hāsyoद्ghaṭaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Laugh, Uncover, Hum). Then, show the mandala, reciting "Look at this excellent mandala" and so on, and with "Om Vajra Pashya Ho" (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་པཱ་ཤྱཧོ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र पाश्य हो, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra pāśya ho, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, See, Ho) show from Vajra Hook to Vajrapani. This is the sequence of entering. Then, with this, the empowerment should be given. First, the teacher places the disciple in the center of the moon mandala. First is the vase empowerment, then the crown empowerment, then the diadem and garland empowerment, then the vajra empowerment, then the bell empowerment, then the name empowerment. These are the wisdom empowerments. Then, the irreversible empowerment should be given, from the root mandala to the distance of two cubits outwards, making the mandala in four directions, and the empowerment and so on are led into the root mandala, here is spoken the ritual of empowerment. Then, give the practice, give the sequence of the yoga of the deity, the first combination, and the sequence of how to do the supreme mandala king and the supreme action king, and the sequence of prolonging life is given here.

Hrūṃ Vajra Āyuṣe Hūṃ A, by this, giving. Now, from here, the practice of the painted scroll is shown. On a well-made scroll, the Bhagavan Vajra Amitāyus, with the light of the moon, residing on a lunar mandala, possessing the attributes of a Chakravartin, adorned with all ornaments, namely earrings, necklaces, a pectoral ornament, a torque, a jeweled pendant, and bound with silk ribbons. The two hands, the left in the gesture of fearlessness, and the right in the gesture of supreme giving, from which nectar drips, should be painted. Below that, the practitioner with palms joined, looking upwards with face raised, receiving the siddhi from the nectar of the Bhagavan's hand. For this, consecration and so forth should be done as before, and offerings should be made. In front of it, recite the mantra a hundred thousand times, and then engage in the practice of enduring. The practice is to begin in an agreeable place on the first day of the fish constellation, and the practitioner should practice until the next day of the fish constellation. "Having made a great offering" means having made outer, inner, and secret offerings. Then, the substances are the milk of a red-yellow cow, or pure butter, or sesame oil, or water, or yogurt, or milk, or alcohol, or blood, or fat, or brains, and so forth, upon which to practice. Then, pressing down with the left hand holding the vajra, the mantra should be recited, and when signs appear, it should be recited repeatedly. The signs are clear. Because of the appearance of signs and to examine the siddhi, the mantra should be recited continuously. Then, the siddhi should be taken, that is, in the morning, having first done protection and so forth, which is to prevent others from stealing it, so it should be protected by a wrathful deity blazing like fire. Then, the taking of the siddhi is to visualize oneself as the deity's form, and to transform the substances into nectar. If one drinks or eats it, the following qualities will arise. The qualities are clear. This is the explanation of Amitāyus cutting off the continuity of karmic obscurations. Now, the meaning of the six worldly mandalas is shown. Among them, the mandala of the Four Great Kings is taught in order to pacify the retinues of worldly gandharvas, kumbhandas, nagas, and yakshas. "Then the Four Great Kings" refers to what arises after Amitāyus. The Four Great Kings.
