With this mudra of Vajradhara, disciples, whether of royal lineage, Jewish lineage, or Brahmins, and so on, are all the same. Holding flowers and jewels, they should be seated. It is said, "(Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཡེ་ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र समय हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra samaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Samaya, Hum)." Thus, first, after bathing oneself and so on, the five vases that have been practiced above should have their essences recited a thousand or a hundred and eight times for the protectors of the land and so on. Adorned with ornaments and clothing, they should be placed in the four directions. One vase should be consecrated with the mantra of the wrathful one who destroys obstacles and then placed. Then, by radiating light from one's own seed syllable, invite the Bhagavan with the assembly of vidyas, offer them foot washing and so on, and by the yoga of vajra hooks and so on, beckon them and make them inseparable. Likewise, invite the four great kings and make them inseparable, then offer them with a multitude of offerings. Bind the mudra of Vajradhara mentioned above, and in the order as it is, receive the empowerment and obtain good permission. Those disciples of royal or noble lineage and so on who desire to have power, strength, and wealth should be given empowerment. Therefore, the disciple should offer gifts to the four great kings and Vajrapani, that is, holding precious flowers, they should be seated. Those who are wealthy should offer gold and other precious things, and those who are not wealthy should hold flowers and so on and be seated. Covering the face with cloth and so on should be understood from what has been said above. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र समय हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra samaya hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Samaya, Hum) is the mantra for seating them. That is, the flowers and jewels should be thrown here. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་པྲ་ཏིཙྪ་བཾ་མ་ཧོད་ཏ་མ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र प्रतिच्छ वं महोदतम, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra praticcha vaṃ mahodtama, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Vajra, Receive, Vam, Great Bliss) Whichever king it falls upon will be accomplished; it will not be otherwise. Then, the four vases placed in the quadrants will bestow empowerment. The fifth, Vajrapani, will bestow empowerment with his mudra. In that order, if empowerment is given in the mandala itself, as it is said, this explains the order of empowerment. Therefore, first throw the flowers, and whichever of the four great kings it falls upon, their siddhi will be accomplished, and not otherwise.
