Therefore, those results that ripen from non-virtuous causes are spoken of. Among them, 'uninterrupted' means without obstruction, because not even a moment of happiness is experienced there. 'He' refers to the son of a god. 'There' refers to the place of uninterruptedness. 'Year' should be understood in five ways: the year of hell, the year of the hungry ghost, the year of the animal, the year of the god, and the year of the human. Among these, gods and so on should be understood as the year of the gods. The year of the Thirty-Three Gods is calculated as one day for every hundred human years, thirty days for a month, twelve months for a year, and twelve thousand years should be understood as twelve lifetimes of the gods. 'Born in the great hell' should be understood as the year of hell. The year of the great Avici hell is one intermediate kalpa, calculated with the lifespan of the Four Great Kings as one day, and one is completely born there. In the minor hells, such as Duhu, they remain in their respective years. Animals should be exemplified by humans, without joy. 'In the place of birth of hungry ghosts' refers to the year of the hungry ghosts. Their years are calculated with one month of humans as one day, thirty days as a month, and twelve months as a year, and one hundred years is one hundred lifetimes of hungry ghosts. Suffering is an unpleasant feeling, a severe torment. Even after being liberated from those, one will be born among the barbarians of remote lands, and may even become disabled. Thereafter, even if born into low castes, one will be born with one's body tormented by various diseases, or with incomplete limbs, or doing other harmful and ungentlemanly acts, such as hunting birds, hunting deer, and fishing. There, being scolded by many people is a common scolding. Being scolded by everyone is a thorough scolding, saying that they do unreasonable things. Low caste refers to being reborn as butchers and other such castes. Continuous suffering is being bound in iron chains, pierced by weapons, burned by fire, and so on, one will experience countless sufferings. This refers to slightly higher castes.

Thereafter, upon hearing this, the sons of the gods, including Indra, were greatly frightened and terrified, and feeling sorrow, they fell face down. This is like when some people hear the news of a king being killed by an improper act, they are greatly frightened, terrified, and saddened. (Thinking) that even someone like an ārya (Sanskrit, श्रेष्ठ,noble one) among the gods is experiencing such suffering, what kind of situation is this? Because of their attachment and sorrow for him, and the fear of their own faults, they fell face down. Then they prayed again, saying: "Bhagavan, how can one be liberated from this great succession of suffering? How can the Sugata be liberated? Bhagavan, please, in any way possible, protect us from being completely liberated from such a mass of suffering. Please protect this Sugata thoroughly." This is like a loving mother whose beloved son is afflicted by a severe and virulent disease, repeatedly asking the skilled doctors: "Great being, please save him from this. By what means can he be liberated from this?" Similarly, Indra, the lord of the gods, out of compassion and sorrow for that son of the gods, and to eliminate the fear of such suffering for those (gods), and for the benefit of future sentient beings, (prayed,) "What are the means by which one can be liberated from that great suffering? Please save all sentient beings abiding in the three times from this." This is a prayer with sorrow, and the second prayer is to emphasize. The Bhagavan said: "King of the Gods, listen, I will also explain what has been taught by eighty-four kotis (Sanskrit,俱胝,bye ba phrag brgyad cu rtsa bzhi, a unit of large number) of Buddhas." This is because the Bhagavan, in order to liberate sentient beings abiding in the three times, greatly praised the virtues of the holy Dharma, thereby generating joy. Among them, the so-called "taught by eighty-four kotis of Buddhas" should be understood in two aspects: On the one hand, it explains that this holy Dharma is the cause of generating great joy, faith, and entry. On the other hand, it explains that all the Tathagatas of the past, present, and future, perfectly
