It is the particularly excellent accumulation of merit of the Tathagata. This is because, considering both the Sambhogakaya and the Nirmanakaya, the qualities of its Dharmakaya are said to be immeasurable. One is as shown above, from the immeasurable excellence of qualities, it should be known that vast and immeasurable benefits are proclaimed in the limb through which beings enter. The gods prayed: "Blessed One, what are the fruits and results of the beings who enter this great mandala king? It is truly wonderful! Great Vajradhara, it is truly wonderful! Blessed One, we also wish to enter this great mandala king. Blessed One, Vajradhara, we wish to enter," and so on, with words of great wonder, they request the Blessed One to enter the mandala. To this, the gods, including Brahma, said: "Blessed One, the merit of the one holding the vajra in his hand, and the merit of all the Tathagatas, cannot bear the merit of the beings who enter the mandala of the king who completely purifies all the evil destinies." The gods, seeing the particularly excellent collection of qualities, therefore desire to enter the mandala of the Tathagata who completely purifies all the evil destinies. The second word of wonder is extremely wonderful. The second word of wishing to enter is extremely wishing to enter. After these, the chapter of the great mandala is completed, and the gods enter the mandala. In other tantras, it is said that this is called the chapter of the empowerment of the gods. Then, the gods, including Brahma, prostrated to the Tathagata and prayed thus: "Blessed One, the beings of Jambudvipa have little merit and short lives, possess the causes of evil destinies, and there are beings who will be born in hells, pretas, and animals. Blessed One, what should we do about this?" and so on, is that the gods, including Brahma, generate the mind for the benefit of all beings, and pray for the perfection of the benefit of oneself and others. To this,

Speaking of the sentient beings of Jambudvipa, it is like where there are many medicines to cure diseases, there are also many diseases and deaths caused by perverted influences. In southern Jambudvipa, most people practice the holy Dharma, but because they do not understand and misuse it, they are dominated by evil destinies, and many sentient beings are born in hells and other places. That is why the sentient beings of Jambudvipa are mentioned. Small merit means many diseases, being disliked, and being poor, lacking wealth, etc. Short life means a short life. Having the cause of evil destinies means especially practicing sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and sentient beings who have committed great sins. This is said considering their lives and views. Being born in hells and other places is said considering the sentient beings who have passed away. So, what should be done for them? It should be understood that the request is for a method to liberate those who have been born in evil destinies from evil destinies, and to destroy the cause of evil destinies for those who will be born in evil destinies. The Blessed One said: "O sons of the gods, place these sentient beings in the mandala and give them empowerment! Also recite the scriptures! In this way, these sentient beings will have long lives, and those who lack merit will have merit. Those who have the cause of evil destinies will cut off the cause of evil destinies and have the cause of liberation and good destinies." This is said considering the sentient beings who have life. Therefore, for those sentient beings who are short-lived, have little merit, and have the cause of evil destinies, place them in the three types of mandalas that completely purify all evil destinies, and give them empowerment according to the ritual. If one constantly recites the root mantra of the Tathagata and the mantra of immeasurable life, merit, and wisdom, then those who are short-lived will become long-lived, those who have little merit will have merit, and those who have the cause of sin will be free from all sins and abide in the path of good destinies and liberation. This must be certain. O sons of the gods, those who have already been born in evil destinies,

Grant empowerment to these names! Grant empowerment to any image as well! Grant empowerment to stupas too! Grant empowerment to the image of your own deity! If (the deceased) is young, grant empowerment to those of the same lineage, and to his son, those of the same clan, and to the holder of his name and servants as well! Like this, placing them in the mandala seven times, after empowerment, they will not be devoured by demons, and within seven days they will be completely liberated from the obscurations of the lower realms. This is said with the intention of those who have passed away. For the names and images of sentient beings who are about to be born in the lower realms, the yogi summons their consciousness with samadhi. Verses and bodhicitta, etc., are recited by the son, father, sister, brother, etc., and offerings are made, making them inseparable from (the deity), thereby granting empowerment. Like this, seven times, placing them seven times in the mandala of the Tathagata, the King Who Completely Purifies All Lower Realms, and after empowerment, if the four kinds of fire offerings that will appear below, which are in accordance with this, are performed, then one will definitely be liberated from the lower realms, this must be understood as certain. Some say this: If granting empowerment to the corpse of the deceased, etc., can liberate one from the lower realms, then granting empowerment to the name, image, son, and stupa, etc., of the deceased is not related to the deceased himself, because the consciousness has gone elsewhere, how can one be liberated? If you say so, then granting empowerment to the corpse will also not liberate, because the corpse is like an inanimate object, and his consciousness has gone elsewhere, there is no connection, then for the deceased person, the means of the Tathagata would not be able to save them. Therefore, the person who speaks like this certainly does not understand the Mahayana Dharma and commits a serious fault. This is because there is no difference between granting empowerment to the corpse and granting empowerment to the image of the deceased, etc. Because both are empty of consciousness, and it is done by summoning consciousness through the power of the Vajra Master.
