Those deities of the retinue, desiring to gather all the retinue, should be seated on a red lotus because they are free from attachment to the three realms. Ordinary worldly people, because they do not possess those qualities, not to mention their own seats, should be seated on the ground itself. As it is said in the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana: All Buddhas possess, The seat of the wise sons of Buddha, The best of lotus-born minds, Praised by all auspicious worlds. Self-Buddhas and Arhats, Those known for one-sided wisdom, Know them as seats, Those with lotus-born petals. Whatever gods of the world, Known as worlds of Brahma and others, Their seats are red lotuses, Praised by kings and others. Ordinary people, as appropriate, Should contemplate on the differences of the earth. Thus it is said. Similarly, where color, shape, and size are not clearly stated, one should meditate according to what pleases one's mind, and not hesitate, thinking that there is no clear scriptural basis for this. Because for deities, it is also said in the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana: Forms should be known as two, Women are indeed male bodies, Or all that exists, Colors, shapes, and forms, Because they arise from the wisdom of thought, Therefore they are inconceivable, The wisdom of knowing wisdom, Is different for the benefit of sentient beings. How much is the adornment in the mind, Seats and hand gestures, And the size of the deity, Know them in that order. Thus it is said. In those four stages, generate great compassion for that awakening, and the Blessed One, Victorious over the Three Realms, shows the nature of subduing the lower realms. In the east are sentient beings in hell, in the south are animals, in the west are hungry ghosts, and in the north are white pigeons, black crows, black owls, and pigs. Know that the pigs exist as if eating the three. Having thus explained the deities of the root mandala, now explain the deities of the Vajra Peak. In the center is the venerable and holy Shakyamuni Buddha, like refined gold, with his right and left hands making the supreme giving mudra and the samadhi mudra, having the appearance of a monk, seated on a lotus and moon of a lion throne.

Adorned, abiding in the vajra posture. In the eastern direction, Vajrapani, green in color, a hero, holding a vajra and a bell in his right and left hands. In the south, the crown of the Victorious One, light red in color, holding a vajra and a victory banner in his right and left hands. In the west, the Wheel-Turner, yellow in color, holding a golden wheel with eight spokes in his two hands. In the north, the All-Victorious One, yellow in color, with nectar in his right and left hands, and marked with a lotus crown. In the southeast, the mass of splendor, reddish-white in color, holding the sun marked with jewels in his two hands. In the southwest, the Destroyer, light red in color, holding a club and a threatening gesture in his right and left hands. In the northwest, the All-Scattering One, red in color, with a sword and a threatening gesture in his right and left hands. In the northeast, the One with the White Umbrella, white in color, holding a white umbrella with a golden handle in his two hands. These are similar to the description of the attire of Vajrasattva and others, but because they are only of the Victorious One's family, they are named with the name of the crown. The remaining deities are as before. In the mandala of Vajrapani Amitayus, in the center is Vajrapani, white in color, holding a vajra and a bell at his heart with his two hands, with the attire of a hero, adorned with all ornaments. In the four directions are the four great kings, with the attire of wheel-turners. As it is said in the root mandala, here there is only a lotus and moon seat, and the rest is as before. The master of the mandala of the four great kings and others, the All-Victorious One of the Three Realms, is like Vajrapani himself, who is established in the Vajra Crown, with a slightly wrathful demeanor, or it can also be the mudra of Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), a vajra and a bell. The remaining directions have already been spoken of. In the mandala of the guardians of the directions, it is also the same, the rest has already been spoken of, and slightly different are the sun and the two hands in front, the upper east and the lower east. In the mandala of the planets, it is also the same, the rest has already been spoken of. In the mandala of the great nāgas, it is also the same, the rest has already been spoken of. In the mandala of the great terrifiers, in the center
