In order to increase, this Buddha image is drawn. If asked, from where can one clearly understand the practice of essence extraction here? (Answer:) Take prostrations, accomplishments, etc. From the Guru, the Three Jewels, offer one share each, and then, always enjoy it yourself. Thus, it is said to distribute the accomplishments. The ritual of distribution is done for the objects. In the Tantra "Later Part," it mentions red-yellow butter. Butter, or new butter, or sesame oil, or water, or milk, or yogurt, or alcohol, or blood, or fat, or marrow, or meat, or whatever is obtained, since it is said to obtain it, then these substances for essence extraction should also be used here. The meanings of the words are easy to understand, so they are not explained separately. Regarding "the practitioner himself," etc., (the scripture) says, "Draw the shape, form, color, and attire of the self as they are." This is the instruction of the oral tradition. Then, "successively offer that body image," that is the time of consecration. Regarding "oneself," it means if one is able to. If not, then by some other good teacher. "Opening the eyes" means like the custom of a king's enthronement, establishing it in a stable position. So, how should the ritual of opening the eyes be done here? Therefore, explain the consecration by sequentially separating the definitive words, classifications, and rituals. Among them, the definitive word is "prakāra-naśanena-tiṣṭha-pratiṣṭha (梵文天城体:प्रकारनशनेंनतिष्ठप्रतिष्ठ,梵文罗马拟音:prakāra-naśanena-tiṣṭha-pratiṣṭha,汉语字面意思:以殊胜而安住)," because it abides in the supreme place, it is called consecration. That is also because it is supreme and special due to its long duration, so it is supreme. Among them, long duration refers to everything. Special refers to the places of offering, because they have been made into the nature of wisdom bodhisattvas. There are two types of classification: the classification of the base and the classification of the ritual. Among them, there are three types of base classification: to consecrate as the nature of the body, to consecrate as the nature of speech, and to consecrate as the nature of each lineage. Among them, to consecrate as the nature of the body is: stupas, temples, stone monuments, trees, wells and springs, pavilions and horse-landing places, and wooden pillars. To consecrate as the nature of speech is rosaries and mundane scriptures, and supramundane scriptures. To consecrate as the nature of each lineage is

To establish [the deity] is to thoroughly establish the forms of the deities in their respective bodies. The classification of rituals is twofold: extensive rituals and concise rituals. Now, let us explain the rituals in order. For this, the teacher who wishes to perform the consecration should do so on an auspicious month, date, and star. That is, the sixth month and the four planets, and whichever of the fourteen stars, and the number of the seven dates, are the times for the consecration of the Buddhas and so on. At those times, the place should be pleasing to the mind, adorned with arrows, banners, streamers, and so forth, and flowers should be scattered and made fragrant. In that place, set up a platform that is two cubits high, four cubits wide, square, level, beautiful, smooth, with distinct corners, and not tilted. It should be made of stone, brick, earth, or brick ash, and whitewashed with lime. On that platform, perform bathing and offerings, and so forth, to the deity to be consecrated. As for the order of the rituals, first, place the statue on the platform facing east, and offer a yellow cloth to the statue, reciting Om Vajra Vastar Hum Purify it by throwing mustard seeds and water three times. Then, place the five products of the cow and the five elixirs in a cup, take it with a Durva grass brush, and wash it while reciting this mantra: Om Sarva Tathagata Kaya Vishodhana Svaha After it has become clean, place sesame oil infused with fragrant scents in a container made of cow dung, take it with a Durva grass brush, and apply it thoroughly while reciting this mantra: Om Hum Hram Trih Kham Then, to remove the sesame oil again, wash it with water mixed with the powder of the five barks, namely the barks of the Udumbara, Shirisha, Ashvattha, Nyagrodha, and Varkata trees. Then, apply cleansing agents such as Amla, and bathe it with an empowerment bath using a vase filled with pure, fragrant water mixed with the five elixirs, reciting verses of victory and auspiciousness, ringing the bell, playing various songs, dances, and musical instruments, and pouring water into the vase. At that time, the teacher should visualize the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and accomplished
