Having meditated on the form of a wrathful deity, one should speak these words to the gods and asuras of hatred, and to the secret ones: "The teacher, named so-and-so, in order to perfect the complete enlightenment of the student, so-and-so, and to enable all sentient beings to attain unsurpassed wisdom, here, by this king of the mandala named so-and-so, gods, asuras, yakshas, gandharvas, rakshasas, pretas, flesh-eaters, those who cause forgetfulness, bhutas, dakinis, oppressors, garudas, kinnaras, and accomplished mantra-holders, whether elderly men or elderly women, together with whatever servants and retinues are dwelling here, arise! Having heard the command of Vajradhara in this way, arise immediately! Those who do not depart, may their heads be split into a hundred pieces by the blazing, extremely wrathful Vajrapani Hum (藏文:ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城体:वज्रपाणि हुं,梵文罗马拟音:Vajrapāṇi hūṃ,汉语字面意思:金刚手·吽), whose face is blazing, with the great, blazing, extremely blazing wisdom vajra!" Having said this three times, while remaining in a standing posture, one should bless the ground to be of vajra nature.

The method of the short spear, the method of the single point of the arrow, the manner of prostration, the vajra posture, the posture of samadhi, the lotus posture, the bodhisattva's cross-legged posture, the warrior's posture, the excellent posture, the squatting posture, the loving posture, moving forward, scattering backward, infinite, victorious, cloud sound, large belly, binding the five places with the king's stake, striking the stake, demarcating with nets and fences, like the binding of the directions in comfort, contemplate the ground as blazing with the nature of vajra, thereby establishing it. This is to be done in the manner that has been said. This is the ritual of completely taking the land. Then at night, the inner ground should be purified, saying "Om Bhu Kham," making the ground into space. Saying "Hum Lam Hum," making it into the nature of gold. In the center of that, from the lotus to "Vajra Bandha Hum" (藏文:བཛྲ་བནྡྷ་ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:वज्रबन्ध हुं,梵文罗马拟音:vajrabandha hūṃ,汉语字面意思:金刚 束缚 吽), recite as much as possible. Then again, smear the ground with the heavy scent of fragrance and purity, arrange lamps in all directions and corners, and arrange incense smoke billowing. While touching the ground of the mandala with your hand, recite the mantra of your own deity one hundred and eight times, and the hundred-syllable mantra one hundred times. Then, that night the teacher should watch dreams, and on the night of preparation, the disciple should watch dreams. Thus, as it is also said in the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairochana: Then the mantra practitioner rises, with a mind of compassion, dwells in the west, with the inner self completely pure, remembers the bodhicitta, and sleeps in that place. Then the mantra practitioner watches dreams, or sees a bodhisattva of great fame, or sees the Buddha, the Bhagavan, for the sake of benefiting sentient beings, in the work of drawing mandalas, exerting effort in all endeavors, or saying to oneself: Great-hearted being, good son! Quickly draw the mandala! One may also see joy arising. If one sees a bad sign, then one should protect the practice of bodhicitta and so on. The disciple's dream watching will be explained below. This is the ritual of purifying the inner ground.
