Between the request for instructions from the Four Great Kings, such as Vaishravana, offer one's own essence for the benefit of beings, requesting to bestow it. The Tathagata consents, and the king offers the essence, which is blissful and needs no further mention. Now, the meaning of drawing the mandala is explained. Then, it is said that their mandala is explained, meaning that it follows after the offering of the essence. The center is Vajrapani residing in the middle. The surrounding is the Four Great Kings. Explanation means explaining the meaning. Why? Because it is square with four doors, and the mandala is adorned with (ladas, Devanagari: ladas, Romanized Sanskrit: ladasa, literal meaning: filled). It is said. The square is because there are Four Great Kings, so it should be made square. The four doors are because the Four Great Kings subdue from the four directions with their respective lineages and perform the duties of vows, so they are four doors. The mandala is Vajrapani residing in the center. Saying adorned with (ladas, Devanagari: ladas, Romanized Sanskrit: ladasa, literal meaning: filled) is because there are the Four Great Kings and a fifth, so it is said to be adorned with (ladas, Devanagari: ladas, Romanized Sanskrit: ladasa, literal meaning: filled). That is, draw four (thamga, Devanagari: thamga, Romanized Sanskrit: thamga, literal meaning: seal) in the two-thirds of the mandala's nine grids. In the center, draw Vajrapani in a wrathful posture. At the junctions of the nine grids, draw the consorts of the Four Great Kings. The consort of Dhritarashtra is Vajra Arrow Maker Mother, the consort of Virudhaka is Unparalleled Mother, the consort of Virupaksha is Subduing Skillful Mother, and the consort of Vaishravana is Garland Holder Mother. The spaces between the nine grids are also separated by strings of jewels. The outside is also surrounded by a circle. Draw the four seasons on the four corners. Outside of that, cut off the offerings. The four doors are also drawn in the four directions. Then, making the Vajradhara mudra, let the disciple enter. Throw the wisdom flower. Whichever king it lands on, grant that king's initiation. Now, the initiation is being shown. Then, place in the (gra na, Devanagari: gra na, Romanized Sanskrit: gra na, literal meaning: row), and initiate with four vases. It is said. Then, it refers to after drawing the mandala. The so-called junction is to place it at the junction of the nine grids. The four vases should be endowed with the mantras and mudras of the Four Great Kings. Then, enter into the samadhi of Vajrapani himself. First, grant the initiation of Vajrapani. Then, the vases of the Four Great Kings are in each direction, granting initiation in order and blessing them.

It will be obtained as it appears in the Natan scripture. The meaning of the mandala of the Four Great Kings has been briefly explained. Now, the mandala of the ten directional guardians will be explained. "Then, by the directional guardians," etc., "then" follows after the Four Great Kings. Direction is the four directions, four intermediate directions, and up and down, totaling ten directions. Guardians are those who protect the world. They are the entourages who requested to offer their own essence, and offered swans and essence. Now, the drawing of the mandala is shown, that is, "Then, the mandala of those," "then" follows the context. "Those" are the directional guardians. In the center of the mandala, draw the protector Vajrapani. The entourage is the ten directional guardians. "Explanation" is the explanation of the meaning. "Draw as the previous mandala," "previous" is a synonym for drawing similarly to the Four Great Kings. In the table of the four directions, four intermediate directions, and up and down, in the central table, draw the Bhagavan Vajrapani, with a green body, the right hand holding a vajra at the heart, and the left hand holding a bell resting on the hip. In front of him, draw the red sun, riding a chariot, holding the sun. The white moon, riding a swan, holding the moon. Behind him, draw the earth deity, with a pig's head, holding a lute. In the east, draw the yellow Indra, riding an elephant, holding a vajra. In the south, draw the blue Yama, riding a buffalo, holding a staff. In the west, draw the white water deity, riding a makara, holding a noose. In the north, draw the yellow Yaksha, riding a horse, holding a jewel. In the northeast, draw the white Ishana, riding a bull, holding a trident. In the southeast, draw the red Agni, riding a goat, holding a staff. In the southwest, draw the black Rakshasa, riding a man, holding a sword. In the northwest, draw the green Vayu, riding a deer, holding himself. The gatekeepers are also the same, the outer part is the same as the Four Great Kings. Then, the invocation, self-entry, disciple-entry, and empowerment with the vases consecrated with the mantras of the ten directional guardians are performed. And its merits, and the greatness of protecting and increasing merits, and vowing to protect one's own direction, this is easy, no need to say more.
