This is to meditate on the determination. At that time, the so-called "one with union" means that the yogi will become a Buddha. At that time, the yogi intends to accomplish Bodhi. Therefore, the yoga that accomplishes Buddhahood is Buddha Yoga. To attain enlightenment through the yoga of cause is what is taught in the Perfection of Wisdom and the Action Tantras, etc. That takes a very long time to accomplish. In the Yoga Tantras, because all of the Great Vehicle is contained within the union of cause and effect, enlightenment is attained very quickly. Therefore, "Samadhi" and so on are taught. The so-called "condensed" refers to attaining enlightenment in a condensed time, which is said to arise from the wisdom of Samadhi. Samadhi is the Samadhi of the five Abhisambodhis. Wisdom is non-dual wisdom, and from these two, this (Bodhi) is truly produced and born, so it is said. "Because of" means for what reason, know that it is for that reason. "Buddha Yoga" and so on are briefly summarized, that is, from the glorious "Essence of Suchness Gathered": The Samadhi of Vajrasattva is the Dharma-nature of all Buddhas. This is Buddha, is Buddha itself. Other than this, one will not become another Buddha. So, what is its meaning? The meaning is this: through the sequence of the Samadhi of the five Abhisambodhis, practice the three Samadhis, and then abide for a long time in the Samadhi of Vajrasattva. Place the mind equally on the Vajra residing in one's heart, and abide as long as desired, that is the meaning. This is to explain the union of cause and effect. The so-called "having truly entered the union of result," what is truly entered is non-dual wisdom and self-nature wisdom. In order to explain the non-dual wisdom within them, "subtle" and so on are taught. When one's own mind is focused on all dharmas, all the characteristics of elaboration disappear, and it appears as non-dual.

The one who possesses the nature of self, what is it that the minds and mental events of all sentient beings become one? To see as it is with the nature of purity is the first seeing. After that, one's own mind becomes dense, transforming like the moon, vajra, Buddha, and other things. From where do those come? It is said, "Things" and so on. Because meditating on the difference between things and non-things, the subtle aspect that focuses on all dharmas is the difference of non-things. After that subtle aspect, the dense aspect is the difference of things. Meditating on such things and the difference of non-things is called the fully conceptualized. In the yoga tantras, meditation is separately established. From where do those come? It is said, "Things" and so on. Merely things are not meditation, even if the Buddha's body arises from the four aspects, because it is extremely inferior to the nature body, so non-things are subtle things. That meditation is also not meditation, even if one meditates, it is not meditation, that is the meaning. How to meditate? Because he sees the ultimate truth. How is it not meditation? Because after meditating on the five manifest enlightenments, one attains enlightenment extremely intensely. What is after that? It is said, "Meditation" and so on. Because meditating on subtle things, one sees the ultimate truth. After that, meditate on things like the moon and vajra. By meditating on that thing, one's own mind is completely tamed, and the completely purified action is the state of purity. Therefore, what is ascertained that cause and effect are not other than one's own mind is non-dual wisdom. If cause and effect are one's own mind, then at that time it is its awareness, therefore the yogi will not become a Buddha. If he knows everything, because he does not know the behavior of his own mind and the minds of those to be tamed, how can he become a Buddha? Therefore, it is said, "Buddha" and so on.

Enlightenment, being omniscient, is not a place, nor is it something to be grasped, therefore it is the place of the Buddha. Sentient beings are those to be tamed, and they are not to be grasped, hence the saying. If they were to be grasped, then at that time they would have the duality of conceptualization, and would be confused, and would not attain enlightenment. So how does one become enlightened? It is said, "By realizing one's own mind," and so on. Because all the flavors of one's own mind are realized as one, therefore one is free from the delusion of mere self-awareness. Enlightenment means awakening and omniscience. In order to briefly gather, it is said, "Non-dual union," and so on. To abide in non-dual wisdom is non-dual union. Samadhi is the union of the fruit. That wisdom is complete knowledge, that is, the definite examination of reality. Examining its meaning is to generate. "How is the reality of the cause?" means seeing the very nature of the completely pure mind. "It is reality" is used in conjunction with "seeing." It is establishing non-dual wisdom. In order to establish the wisdom of self-nature, it is said, "Cause," and so on. The cause is the moon, and so on. The fruit is the body of the Buddha, and so on, because there is not even a little reality in those two. Non-existence itself is one and many, and separate from many. In this regard, it is said in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra: Just as an image in a mirror is free from the distinctions of one and many, appearing but not existing in it, so are things in things. It is said thus. The cause itself is the very nature of the cause. "It is reality," that is, thus, that is, ultimately. "In that wisdom" means in the wisdom of suchness. "To practice universally" means to practice correctly. How does one practice correctly? It is said, "By cause," and so on. That is, the mere consciousness of emptiness by the two is the very nature of the perfectly established, and for the non-inverted wisdom, the complete knowledge of the imputed and other-powered nature.
