Lā sye hūṃ! Throw the garland with grace, Offer to all the Buddhas. From then on, may I not be separated from the Bhagavan, This garland is indeed an ornament. Oṃ vajra māle hrāṃ! To all sentient beings, May you sing the sacred song of Dharma. By that, the Sugata's accomplishment, May I quickly experience bliss. Oṃ vajra geyi ti hrīḥ! With that very clapping dance, Offer to all the Buddhas. By the activity of gathering Buddhas, May you accomplish in the manner of a dancer. Oṃ vajra nṛti āḥ! Offering incense to the complete Buddha, May you be well pleased with good conduct. In the form of sentient beings, Sugatas, May you be satisfied with wisdom. Oṃ vajra dhūpe hūṃ! Scatter flowers to the Buddhas, With the complete collection of limbs of enlightenment, Possessing marks and signs, May I obtain the body of the Sugata. Oṃ vajra puṣpe hūṃ! Well kindle the fire of Dharma, Like the vajra Dharma, To sentient beings blinded by ignorance, I pray to light the lamp of wisdom. Oṃ vajra āloke hūṃ! Offering fragrance to the Victorious Ones, With discipline, samadhi, and wisdom, And the attainment of liberation and wisdom, Is the aspiration of Bodhi beings. Oṃ vajra ghante āḥ! Then, offering with desirable qualities, With beautiful colors and shapes, possessing pleasing ornaments, In all directions and times, whatever supreme forms there are, All are offered with devotion to the objects of offering. In all directions and times, whatever is obtained and not obtained, Qualities, melodious sounds, whatever distinctions there are, All are offered with devotion to the objects of offering. Wisdom body itself, I prostrate to you. Then, make four hand gestures and recite: Om Sthito Hridi Jnana Murti Raham Buddhanam. Again, with that same mantra, prostrate to the first Buddha. Again, with that same mantra, prostrate to the wheel of wisdom. Again, with that same mantra, prostrate to the wisdom being. This is what generates uncontaminated wisdom, therefore here is the sequence of self dissolving into the heart. Then, abide in the profound, excellent, vast, expansive, and great samadhi. If feeling weary, then do the yoga of recitation. Then, abide in the gradual long samadhi. Thus, with the yoga of four sessions, first practice the approach; for empowerment, practice the approach with signs; for abiding, practice the approach with numbers; for benefiting the dead, practice the approach with time. Or, those with superior faculties practice the approach with signs; those with intermediate faculties practice the approach with numbers; those with inferior faculties practice the approach with time. This is the ritual of the preliminary approach.
