Because of oneness, there are no many lineages. Among the nine divisions, the fifth, how do those various appearances abide in the basis of all (ālaya)? Therefore, in the first moment of mind, body and all phenomena reside. As shown above, because the mind has no many differences, in the single moment of the mind of the all-ground (ālaya), the body with its senses and all phenomena without exception reside. Why do the subsequent moments of mind also appear similar to the previous ones? Because of thinking, the subsequent arises and appears in that way. It is shown that it appears due to the power of attachment and clinging to things. Just as one clings to the previous ones, the subsequent ones also appear similarly. The sixth of the nine divisions shows that everything is gathered within the basis of appearance, the mind, so there is nothing to be obtained. The qualities of an exalted person beyond one's own mind-stream are not other. As shown above, because all phenomena without exception reside in a single moment of mind. The various six realms are also one's own samādhi. The six lineages of sentient beings such as gods and humans exist, and those of the same lineage also abide in various ways. They appear through the power of samādhi, which has been familiar and habitual since beginningless time. Why is it that since the nature of everything is self, there is no distinction or separation? The mind-stream has no direction whatsoever, so it does not rely on one thing. All phenomena, both defiled and purified, are one's own mind. The continuum of moments of mind has no direction such as existence, non-existence, both existence and non-existence, east, west, up, down, etc., so it cannot be shown as one thing, saying, "It is like this." Therefore, there is no showing of one. Because it has no direction, it is limitless, and all are my body. If there is one direction, it cannot be shown as the nature of one thing. What need is there to mention objects? Even if one says it is like the non-objective sky, the emptiness of the sky is differentiated by directions such as east, west, center, and edge, so it cannot be gathered into one.
