Subsequently, in relation, the cause also functions merely as a cause. Even though it has become separated from its function, it appears to accomplish the purposes manifestly desired by those to be tamed, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. This is explaining that what arises from conditions is said to be non-dual. Not only is the Bhagavan of a non-dual nature, but it is also said that the three realms are of a non-dual nature. As it is said: 'Whatever is the nature of the Tathagata, that is the nature of this world.' And so forth, as previously stated. The term 'truly' means truth. Its limit is ultimate, meaning there is no other truth beyond it. Abiding in it, abiding in the manner of its own nature, therefore it is abiding in the true limit. If it is read as 'the true limit is,' then it should be explained as: Because the true limit is the dharma-dhatu, therefore it constantly abides in it. In order to tame sentient beings who manifestly cling to self, it is taught about selflessness and so forth. Because it is devoid of self, it is selflessness, that is, the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. That which clearly elucidates the selflessness of things and emits a sound that, like a lion, causes all others to be terrified, is endowed with the roar of the lion of selflessness. It terrifies the evil wild animals of the heretics. Those beings who possess the evil paths of the heretics are like wild animals, therefore they are wild animals. It terrifies those wild animals. And what are those evil heretics like? They contradict valid cognition and yet acknowledge selflessness. Moreover, for the time being, the person of the six elements does not exist. As it is said: 'Not earth, not water, not fire, not wind, not space, not consciousness, all of those are non-existent, what other person exists?' What is said is the remaining part. Person means self. The aggregates of appropriation are also not those, as it is said: 'The aggregates are not the self, nor are they different, nor do they possess it, nor are they mixed like fire and fuel, so what are these existing aggregates?' If analyzed, it is considered to be non-existent. Moreover, if the aggregates were the self, then they would become subject to arising and ceasing, because the aggregates are of the nature of arising and ceasing. Thus, for the time being.

The aggregates are not self, nor are they different from the aggregates. If the self were different from the aggregates, then the characteristics of the self and the aggregates would be inconsistent, because the characteristics of the aggregates are birth, abiding, and destruction. If the self were to become a characteristic different from that, then because it is unconditioned, it would be without characteristic like a donkey's horn. Because there is no characteristic, there is never any thing, and the self simply does not exist at all. Because there is no characteristic of self, there is also no grasping at "I," just as "I am fat," "I am thin," "I am white," and so forth, and just as the place of the aggregates is connected with "I," so also there is no self that grasps at the nature of fatness and thinness. I do not have the aggregates, and the aggregates do not have a self. It is also unreasonable for the aggregates to be endowed with a self. Because this distinction of three ways is unreasonable, the five things included in the aspects of identity and otherness are also included therein. Thus, since there is no finding when searching in five ways, selflessness is established. Therefore, it possesses the lion's roar of selflessness. It should be said thus. Although there is no going in the ultimate sense, it is nevertheless simultaneously present in all beings to be tamed. Because of appearance, it goes everywhere; because there is no dharma apart from the realm of dharma, it goes everywhere by reason of pervasiveness. Power with meaning is that which has fruit, that is, that which pervades everything by perfecting disciples just as they are; that is the Thus-Gone One. Because of the very nature of the Thus-Gone One's mind-swift samadhi, the Thus-Gone One is as swift as thought. The Victorious One is victorious over inner afflictions, that is, the Blessed One. Since the Blessed One has said, "From sinful dharmas arises pride, and therefore attendant pride arises," therefore, since he has conquered the demons, he is the conqueror of enemies. Since he possesses the state of being completely victorious over both of those, he is completely victorious. For that very reason, since he turns the wheel of dharma that cannot be overcome, he is a wheel-turning monarch. He possesses the retinue of bodhisattvas and wrathful deities, etc., who are certainly born from the two accumulations. He possesses the perfection of power.
