It should be done like this. How can one understand the proponent of emptiness through being without strife and without contention? If someone is fighting and contending, then know that as emptiness, see it as emptiness. Thus, being without strife and without contention, one can understand the proponent of emptiness. How can one understand the proponent of emptiness through being without decrease and without increase? The proponent of emptiness does not see any dharma as decreasing or increasing. He does not truly see any empty dharma as decreasing or increasing. If someone truly sees any dharma as decreasing or increasing, then he is not one who knows emptiness. Thus, being without decrease and without increase, one can understand the proponent of emptiness. How can one understand the proponent of emptiness through enduring that all conditioned things are naturally ceased? The proponent of emptiness does not truly see any dharma as true or untrue. Whatever is untrue, its nature is ceased. Whatever is ceased by its nature is called naturally ceased. The proponent of emptiness does not truly see any dharma as arising or ceasing. Thus, enduring that all conditioned things are naturally ceased, one can understand the proponent of emptiness. Furthermore, how can one understand the proponent of emptiness through not being afraid when hearing that no dharma is produced by ordinary beings and not stopped by the Buddhas? The proponent of emptiness does not think, "These are ordinary beings, these are Buddhas," but knows the dharma of ordinary beings as equal through the equality of the dharma of the Buddhas. If one sees the dharmas of the Buddhas extensively through the aspects of the dharmas of ordinary beings, then he is not one who knows emptiness. Thus, not being afraid when hearing that no dharma is produced by ordinary beings and not stopped by the Buddhas, one can understand the proponent of emptiness. How can one understand the proponent of emptiness through not doubting when hearing that the nature of samsara and the nature of nirvana are the same? Whatever the nature of samsara and
