The Extensive Explanation of the Holy Mañjuśrī's True Name, Mañjuśrī Grags. The Extensive Explanation of the Holy Mañjuśrī's True Name. Mañjuśrī Grags. In Indian language: Ārya Mañjuśrī Nāma Saṃgīti Ṭīkā. In Tibetan language: The Extensive Explanation of the Holy Mañjuśrī's True Name. Homage to Mañjuśrī, the Lord of Speech, the Wisdom Hero. The essence of perfect, stainless wisdom, the nature of all-knowing, primordially peaceful. The names that clearly express the greatness of accomplishing the aims of various sentient beings are truly spoken. Having attained the peaceful nature, the perfect Buddhas and Bodhisattvas possess incomparable qualities. I shall write here a distinction of those names spoken by the primordially countless ones. Transcending all realms of speech, the names possess all qualities. Having praised with words of reverence, the meaning of those names is explained. Transmitted from the guru's instructions, seeing the meaning of various tantras, possessing all perfections, from seeing the meanings of numerous categories. Although completely separated from all abilities, for the sake of remembering oneself, there is no contradiction in distinguishing, and there is no prohibition for the sake of others. If any son or daughter of good family, with supreme faith, recites the names of the Tathāgatas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River for a kalpa or more than a kalpa, how much will the accumulation of merit increase? Answer: For that, immeasurable and limitless, it will greatly increase. Furthermore, if any son or daughter of good family utters the name "Homage to Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta," then more than the former, this accumulation of merit will greatly increase. Why is that? Because he has become the virtuous friend of infinite Tathāgatas. That is, Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta, from the Buddhas, the Bhagavat as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, from the first arising of the thought of enlightenment, and so on, to the order of the perfections such as generosity, perfectly established in Buddhahood itself, the Bhagavat Śākyamuni truly praised and spoke. But some say: Are these meanings as they are in reality? Or is it for the sake of generating respect?

Such discriminating thoughts arise, thinking that it is praising. In order to eliminate and dispel these discriminating thoughts, "Thereafter" and so on were spoken. Or, in all the chapters entering into vows, mantras, mudras, and samadhis, the Blessed One spoke praises of Manjushri, saying that the essence of the qualities of all Buddhas, the essence of all the deities of mantras, mudras, and mandalas, Dharma, perfect enjoyment, and the manifested body, the essence of all Buddhas, and the non-dual essence is Manjushri, but the nature is not shown. Vajrapani knew the thoughts in the minds of those who had doubts, and in order to show this, he spoke "Thereafter" and so on. Moreover, the Blessed One himself knew that the actions for the benefit of countless sentient beings in the future were meaningful, and in order to request, he looked at Vajrapani, and then because of Vajrapani's request, he spoke "Thereafter" and so on. Or, in the chapter of the net of samadhi, the differences of the samadhis of the mandala deities were spoken, and then, in order to explain that the opportunity to obtain and the essence of all samadhis, the name of Manjushri will be shown approximately. Therefore, the word "Thereafter" should not be immediately associated with auspiciousness and so on. Through "Thereafter" and so on, in order to guide the listeners to enter, the relationship, statement, what is stated, necessity, and the necessity of necessity should also be stated. Among them, the essence of the qualities of all Buddhas, the essence of the true name proclamation, the nature of the pure Dharmadhatu, the Lord of Speech is what is to be stated, and the collection of scriptures that proclaim it is the true name proclamation, these are also the characteristics of what is stated and the statement, or the characteristics of what is to be shown and the one who shows, or the characteristics of the method and what arises from the method, or the characteristics of cause and effect.
