Therefore, it is called "way," which means path. Whatever has the nature of the Great Vehicle and is a great way is the great way. Because it is not controlled by others, it does not rely on others, meaning it is not swayed by others. Although this is the case, one's own self is definitely combined with the act of benefiting sentient beings, therefore it is held as precious, and there is no contradiction with the so-called "not relying on others." Now, in order to show its nature of becoming the master by thoroughly distinguishing it with language, it is said: King of words, lord of words, skilled speaker, master of words, boundless in words, truthful in words, speaker of truth, proclaimer of the four truths. Here, it is to be observed in conjunction with the four individual correct knowledges. This is explained in detail in the Sutra Spoken by Inexhaustible Intelligence, and here it is only briefly combined. Among them, the individual correct knowledge of meaning is to understand all dharmas in the ultimate truth, that is, to understand dharma, to understand individual distinctions, to understand following, to understand cause, to understand condition, to understand non-duality, to understand assembly, to understand not tending to the ultimate, to understand not abiding in the middle, to understand dependent arising, to understand the indivisibility of the dharma realm, to understand the following of suchness, to understand abiding on the edge of truth, to understand the wisdom of emptiness, and similarly to understand signlessness, wishlessness, non-action, one aspect, selflessness, no sentient being, no life, no person, from the ultimate truth, up to understanding the increase of all roots of virtue and accumulations in the Great Vehicle, this is called the individual correct knowledge of meaning. The individual correct knowledge of meaning is that by which all dharmas that are understood rely on meaning and are relied upon. Why is that? Because all dharmas are completely empty, and whatever is empty is meaning. Similarly, the meaning of signlessness, wishlessness, non-action, unborn, unarisen, no thing, peaceful, selflessness, no sentient being, no life, and no person, that is meaning. From here on, the individual correct knowledge of meaning

Wisdom is inexhaustible in revealing all meanings. Because one has power over such inexhaustible words of teaching, one is called the Lord of Speech. Among these, correctly understanding each Dharma means knowing how to follow all Dharmas, up to knowing the mind's inclination and flow of the eighty-four thousand behaviors of sentient beings, and knowing how to teach the Dharma in various ways, and knowing not to transgress the assembly, and knowing the differences of vessels, and knowing that teaching the Dharma has consequences, and knowing how to teach the Dharma without adding or subtracting. In this way, because one has become the master of words, one is called the Lord of Speech. Among these, correctly understanding each definitive word means knowing how to enter the language of all sentient beings, that is, knowing how to enter the language of gods, dragons, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans. In short, one thoroughly knows all the languages, sounds, melodies, paths of speech, definitive words, symbols, and behaviors of all sentient beings born as beings. After knowing, one also enters those sentient beings with those sounds and those definitive words, as their sounds are, and thus teaches the Dharma, therefore one is wise. Similarly, one should examine the behavior of correctly understanding each definitive word in this way: one should subdue these Dharmas in this way, one should connect these Dharmas in this way, one should comprehend these Dharmas in this way, one should examine these Dharmas with letters in this way. From knowing one word among them, up to two words, one also knows adding to many letters, and also knows not adding. Therefore, because one has become the master of words, one has power over words. That definitive word is also from unobstructed, unerring, up to making all sentient beings happy. Therefore, one is a skilled speaker. Among these, correctly understanding each confidence means knowing how to teach prophecy without attachment, knowing how to teach prophecy with examination, knowing how to teach prophecy without obstruction, and swift confidence.
