It is like this. The very moment of mind is mistaken to be connected with the imputation of oneness by beginningless ignorance, but it is not connected with things, nor is it related to the truth of things. Therefore, the thought that "I exist" is extremely sinful. Because the word is one, the proof of action is also a proof that contradicts the self. The so-called word is a generality, and the generality is not the self, because it is an object that is separated from others, so the word is not without an object. Therefore, it shows that there is no object. To say that "the life of a living being is not without self" and so on is also not related, because the relationship between life and so on and the self is not established. Moreover, it is not related to its own nature, because it has been admitted that there are differences. It is also not produced from it, because it is contradictory for the permanent dharma to do things in the sense of sequence and simultaneity. Among them, it is not permissible to produce in sequence, because the two natures of the producer itself and the non-producer itself are contradictory to exist in one thing at one time. For immutable things, even if there are a thousand simultaneous causes, it is impossible to produce an excellent result. For the permanent dharma, where is the need to rely on simultaneous action? Because it is simultaneous action. Because one moment does everything, there is nothing to do in the second moment. Death, which is characterized by the absence of breathing, or the characteristic of the absence of everything, will become a fault. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to infer in reverse. If two proofs are stated in order to establish from permanence and pervasiveness, it is also extremely unreasonable, because without the subject, the self of the subject cannot be established. Or, if the body and so on are taken as one side, and it is argued that from the production of the first consciousness, the consciousness that arises later will also arise, it is also unreasonable, because there is no valid cognition that "this is produced from it." For the time being, it is not direct perception, because it did not exist in the later time either. Inference is also not direct perception.

Because it is characterized by being precedent, it is not endowed with the function of being without it. For inference, inference is also not characterized by being precedent, because it does not abide. For the second connection, because it possesses a body, the example of 'like my body' would not have pervasive pervasion if a connection with the self is not established; it would be without connection like a child's words. Even so, in order to refute a child's words, a proof-statement should be stated: that which does not have arising also does not have ceasing, because there is no existence in it. For example, like a rabbit's horn. Others say that the self, which is manifestly desired, does not have arising and ceasing either; this is the non-apprehension of the pervader. Similarly, whatever performs a function gradually or simultaneously is not permanent, nor pervasive, nor non-existent. For example, if a lamp, seed, sprout, twig, and so forth, gradually or simultaneously produce a function, then it is not transformed from being the opposite of permanence, pervasiveness, and non-existence. The apprehension of existence, which is contrary to non-existence, is the apprehension of contrary pervasion. Or, whatever does not gradually or simultaneously perform a function is non-existent, like a rabbit's horn, a turtle's hair, and so forth. Dissimilar dharma is like a sprout and so forth. From a permanent self, the performance of a function gradually or simultaneously does not occur. Therefore, if performing a function by the characteristic of gradualness or simultaneity is the opposite of permanence, then being the opposite of the existence of its own pervasion is the non-apprehension of the pervader. Or, whatever possesses the qualities of being a thing, being existent, being made, being endowed with arising, and so forth, is all without a self, for example, like an external pot and so forth. The possession of the qualities of being a thing, and so forth, of internal life, body, mind, intellect, happiness, suffering, and so forth, is the reason of nature. Those who assert the existence of a self, which is contrary to perception and other valid cognitions, such as those with intelligence, also follow this order.
