So, with what kind of words does this action correspond? The words "all things are neither two, nor are they all things," in terms of reason, all things are neither two nor one. Is it that everything does not exist at all? If it does not exist, then what exists? Is it that everything cannot be spoken of? Is it to be proven by the ultimate truth? Or is it nominally established by words in conventional truth? Or should it be said that it appears in the nature of conventional truth? To this, the non-existence of things is not conventional truth, because it is also said that it is suchness, the limit of truth, emptiness, non-duality, nirvana, the dharmakaya, and the dharmata. Therefore, because of abiding so closely, the pure and non-dual nature is the Bhagavan, so it is called non-dual. So, how does it show non-duality? Because it is the nature of non-discrimination and non-duality, it is not of the same kind as discrimination, nor is it the nature of words associated with it. However, it is merely a cause and associated with it. The cause also only acts as a continuous cause, not due to the power of karma. Even though it has already been separated from action, it appears to accomplish the desired meaning of those to be tamed, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. For things that arise from conditions, it is established as showing non-duality. The word "first" is a summary, not only is it itself the nature of non-duality, but also the word that shows it is the nature of non-duality, that is the meaning. The so-called "truth" is the true meaning. Its limit is the ultimate, because there is no other more real than it, so it is the limit of truth. To this, with its nature, abiding in all aspects with the unchanging nature of the dharmadhatu, it is called "abiding in the limit of truth." Some versions say, "The limit of truth is abiding." There it is said that because it is the limit of truth, therefore it is abiding, it is explaining the reason for becoming the cause. In order to show the nature of dispelling the arrogance of beings who are manifestly attached to self and so on, it possesses the sound of the lion of selflessness.

"Destroying the Evil Wisdom Deer of the Outsiders." It is said thus. Because of being separate from self, it is non-self, the very nature of non-self. Like a lion, it is fearless and has a definite sound, so it is called that. The statement that all phenomena are without self is the sound of a lion, and it is in accordance with that. Whatever possesses the evil path of the outsiders is the evil wisdom of the outsiders. That evil wisdom of the outsiders is like a deer, so it is a deer. Because they are made to fear, it is called "Destroying the Evil Wisdom Deer of the Outsiders." What is the nature of that evil wisdom of the outsiders? It is to accept that there is a self, which contradicts valid cognition. Such as the Lokayata, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, and Nirgrantha, etc., are all teachers who contemplate the existence of a self. Among them, the Lokayata say that if there is no self, then the agent and enjoyer of actions and their results cannot be established, because without an agent, it would follow that actions that have been done would be destroyed and actions that have not been done would be obtained. Therefore, the valid cognitions that establish its existence, permanence, pervasiveness, agency, and enjoyership should be stated. First, existence itself is measured as if without pride. Existence and so forth are the objects of knowledge, both objects and non-objects, of the Vaisheshika, called the self, which are direct perception, inference, measurement, sound, memory, individual knowledge, established views, the teachings of sages, doubt, inversion, untrustworthiness, dreams, and dreams within dreams, all of which are knowledge. Knowing that the self is different from the body and so forth, knowledge depends on one's own continuum, has birth, has distinctions, has pervasiveness, has the nature of understanding, has very rapid grasping, has the production of accumulation, and because there are causes, it is the knowledge of other persons. Because the dharmas are dissimilar, they become invisible, like pots and so forth. Among them, the six, such as existence, are without distinction, namely existence and non-discrimination, having substance and cause and effect, generality and particularity.
