If someone asks if both of these are not logical, it is because, for the Blessed One, the very nature of the non-dual Dharmadhatu sometimes appears as arising from the form of mantra, and sometimes in the form of mantra itself. In other instances, it abides in a non-dual manner. But in reality, it does not abide in forms such as cause, effect, and consummation. Therefore, there is no contradiction in saying, "Arising from the great form of mantra, possessing the nature of the great form of mantra." In order to show that the Blessed One Manjushri abides in forms such as the purity of the ten perfections, it is said: "Having attained the ten perfections, abiding in the ten perfections, pure in the ten perfections, having the form of the ten perfections, the protector is the lord of the ten grounds, abiding in the ten grounds." So, what are the ten perfections? They are: the perfection of generosity, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, the perfection of wisdom, the perfection of skillful means, the perfection of aspiration, the perfection of strength, and the perfection of knowledge. These are the ten perfections. So, how does one correctly articulate these perfections? Giving without pride is the perfection of giving, but it does not mean one should continuously and completely give away all possessions. Keeping ethics without pride is the perfection of ethics, but it does not mean one should not engage in the merits and all the resources of keeping ethics, learning, and practice. Practicing patience without pride is the perfection of patience, but it does not mean one should not engage in constant patience. Exerting diligence without pride is the perfection of diligence, but it does not mean one should not correctly cultivate all continuous roots of virtue. Meditating without pride is the perfection of meditation, but it does not mean one should not value constant focus.

It is not. Because there is no arrogance of wisdom, it is the perfection of wisdom. It is also not that one does not constantly strive to seek learning. Because there is no arrogance of means, it is the perfection of means. It is also not that one disregards all the places of heretics and the efforts to do the roots of virtue of all sentient beings. Because there is no arrogance of aspiration, it is the perfection of aspiration. Having made the roots of virtue of all sentient beings and my own various roots of virtue common with all sentient beings, one does not dedicate them to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Because there is no arrogance of power, it is the perfection of power. It is also not that one cannot subdue the minds filled with pride, arrogance, and conceit by the son of craving and the forms of Vajrapani. Because there is no arrogance of knowledge, it is the perfection of knowledge. It is also not that one does not engage in all the places of crafts, the places of combination, and the places of activities. Son of the lineage, this is the Dharma that is truly spoken, which is perfectly endowed with the perfections of the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, son of the lineage, the perfection of generosity of the Bodhisattva obtains the jewel in hand and the treasury of space. The perfection of discipline completely transcends all the lower realms, has power over death and birth, and obtains an intelligent mind. The perfection of patience obtains the Tathagata's body adorned with excellent marks and signs, which one never tires of seeing. The perfection of diligence quickly obtains clairvoyance and has power over all Dharmas. The perfection of meditation obtains a desirable body and mind, obtains different dharanis and eloquence, and eliminates the obscurations of afflictions. The perfection of wisdom obtains fearlessness and the four individual perfect knowledges. The perfection of means obtains ease of accomplishment and obtains the highest state of body, speech, and mind. The perfection of aspiration remembers all births in every lifetime and rejoices as desired.
