Sava! Just as the differences in thought, one should explain to sentient beings. That is to say, one should know and show the differences that are distinguished by the differences of whose thoughts are small, medium, large, etc. It is not in a common way, that is its meaning. Secret Lord Vajrapani, said these words to the Tathagata, after joining his palms, he bowed his body and sat before the Buddha. After that, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni, again spoke to the Secret Lord. It should be connected like that. After that, it refers to after Vajrapani asked. Because he possesses freedom etc., he is the Bhagavan. Because he understood the meaning of non-perversion, he is the perfectly complete Buddha. Because he became the supreme of gods and humans, he is the supreme of two-legged beings. What did he do and then speak again? He said, "From his own face, he extended his excellent tongue, long and wide." He said these things. In order to prevent the possibility that the Tathagata, by the power of blessing, might also teach the Dharma with the mouths and tongues of other sentient beings, he said, "his own face." In order to dispel the thought that even if it is one's own face, it might be shown as other due to the object of taming, he specifically said, "from his own face, he extended his tongue." "Excellent" means that it necessarily arises from the accumulation of merit, and it creates the accumulation of merit and wisdom in the continuum of other sentient beings. "Long" means extremely long. "Wide" means that it completely covers the center of the face, up to the edge of the forehead, and has the characteristics of being thin and large, like the color of copper. "Extended" means taken out. Why did he show such a beautiful and wide tongue? In order to show that he has become accustomed to speaking the truth in countless kalpas, and to show that it is the very act of teaching the undeceiving Dharma to all sentient beings. Or, extending his tongue and showing a smile, he also truly showed it, and it should be connected to "again speaking to the Secret Lord." In order to show the difference of the smile, illuminating the three realms, the four maras.

Subduing the enemies, purifying the three lower realms of beings, starting from showing a smile. Thus it is said, illuminating the three worlds, that is, making the three realms appear and be clear. The four maras are the skandha mara, the klesha mara, the death mara, and the deva-putra mara, these are the enemies. Subduing them means swelling from one's own realm and making them suitable for the path to enlightenment. Not only that, purifying the three lower realms of beings, starting from showing a smile. Thus it is said, the three lower realms are the birthplaces of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals. When the Buddha Bhagavan smiled, at that time various colors of light rays emanated from his face, illuminating the beings belonging to the birthplaces of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals. When they truly touched the light rays, the suffering of body, speech, and mind of beings in hell, etc., was pacified and ceased, and they saw the Buddha. Seeing that Buddha, remembrance arose, and then they prostrated to the Buddha, prostrated to the Dharma, and prostrated to the Sangha. As soon as they remembered the Three Jewels, they died and were reborn, sharing the same fortune as gods and humans. First, they took the mind of enlightenment completely and gradually became the Buddha Bhagavan by becoming accustomed to the perfections such as generosity. Therefore, purifying the three lower realms. Or, purifying the causes of the three lower realms, such as desire, hatred, and ignorance. Or, purifying the manifestation of the existence of self, objects, qualities, actions, generalities, particulars, aggregates, and powers, etc., which are the causes of the three lower realms, those with courage, dust, dark tangible objects, sons of no desire, Brahma, thus purifying, hence the name purifying the three lower realms. Such a smile is truly shown to beings, or the three lower realms related to beings are purified, thus connecting. The voice of Brahma is pleasant.
