Until I have not seen one who demonstrates the teaching, I will not manifest the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment. When I, with unobstructed Buddha eyes, look in all ten directions and see a Tathagata whom the Buddha himself has not trained, then I will manifest the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment. World Honored One, I have made this aspiration. Furthermore, World Honored One, I have made this aspiration: In one Buddha-field of mine, if I have not completely accomplished the vast expanse of Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and if the exterior of that Buddha-field is made of countless hundreds of thousands of kotis of precious jewels, and adorned with countless hundreds of thousands of precious jewels, and if it does not reach the measure of the peak of existence, then I will not manifest the unexcelled, pure, perfect, complete enlightenment. World Honored One, furthermore, in my Buddha-field, may a Bodhi tree grow to the size of ten times the three-thousand great-thousand world realms, and may the light of that Bodhi tree illuminate and pervade all places in that Buddha-field. World Honored One, furthermore, when I am sitting under the Bodhi tree, from the time I manifest the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment until I pass into complete nirvana, even though I have not left the Bodhi tree, may my emanations go to countless hundreds of thousands of kotis of Buddha-fields in each of the ten directions and teach the Dharma to sentient beings. World Honored One, furthermore, in my Buddha-field, may there not even be the name of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, but only Bodhisattvas, free from anger, stinginess, and concealment, practicing only pure conduct. In that Buddha-field, may the name of women not even be heard, and may there be no multiple births. May all those Bodhisattvas wear tattered robes.

Appearing in the posture of seated cross-legged, may that Buddha-field become utterly pure. May the messengers of the Tathagata go to countless billions of hundreds of thousands of kotis of realms in the ten directions, teaching the Dharma to sentient beings, starting from the three vehicles, teaching the Dharma to sentient beings according to their inclinations. Apart from that, in that Buddha-field, may there be no Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, but may it be filled with Bodhisattvas. Thus, he made the aspiration. Then, Manjushri, become youthful, said this to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, my aspiration is not like that of the Tathagata, who, being without desire, possesses the food of joy. Bhagavan, I wish that in my Buddha-field, whenever Bodhisattvas are born, as soon as they have a thought of food, immediately, in that instant, vessels filled with hundreds of thousands of delicious foods will appear in their right hands. As soon as those vessels appear, they will think like this: We have not offered to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat in the ten directions, nor have we satisfied those sentient beings who are poor and suffering, and those who are without protectors, and those who are born in the realm of pretas, who cannot find even a speck of saliva ash even after thousands of years, that it is not proper for us to eat by ourselves. May they remember these things, and immediately attain the previously perfected Abhisamaya, possessing miraculous powers, flying in the sky, With the power of unobstructed like the wind, going to countless immeasurable realms of the ten directions, offering food to the Tathagata and the Sangha of Shravakas, and also satisfying those sentient beings who are poor and hungry, and those who are without protectors, and those who are born in the realm of pretas, and teaching them the Dharma, may they return to the Buddha-field in an instant. Thus, he made the aspiration. Bhagavan, furthermore, I

When I attain enlightenment, may all the Bodhisattvas born in my Buddha-field be endowed with the enjoyment of various kinds of precious garments. As soon as they think of it, may precious garments that are pleasing to them and suitable for the conduct of mendicants appear. As soon as these precious garments appear, may they think, 'It is not proper for us to use such garments ourselves without offering them to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the ten directions.' As soon as they have such a thought, may these garments appear in immeasurable and countless world realms and cover the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Then, may they return to the Buddha-field and be used as desired. May they make such a prayer. Bhagavat, similarly, in that Buddha-field, may all the enjoyments and uses of those Bodhisattvas, the great beings, be offered to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, together with the Sangha of the Shravakas, and then may we use them. May there be no eight unfree states in that Buddha-field. May there be no sound of unwholesomeness in that Buddha-field. May there be no sound of suffering in that Buddha-field. May there be no sound of fault in that Buddha-field. May there be no undesirable forms, sounds, smells, tastes, or tactile sensations in that Buddha-field. May they make such a prayer. Bhagavat, Manjushri, the youth, further said this: Bhagavat, I have made the following prayer: May my Buddha-field be filled with billions, trillions, quadrillions, and quintillions of precious jewels. Adorned with many precious jewels, it is as if precious jewels are displayed everywhere. May those precious jewels be rare in the ten directions, never seen before, and completely non-existent. Even uttering their names would take hundreds of thousands of years. May my Buddha-field be filled with such precious jewels.
