It is called the inexhaustible assembly of practice, that is to say, the eight sons of the venerable Sharadvati are the bodhisattvas who truly uphold diligence. The venerable Sharadvati's sons also have the inexhaustible diligence of the bodhisattvas, which is the basis of the good deeds of the body, the basis of the good deeds of speech, and the basis of the good deeds of mind. Why is that? Because all diligence is connected with body, speech, and mind. The diligence of body and speech is not as supreme as the diligence of mind. So, what is the diligence of mind? It is the entry of the mind and the abiding of the mind. So, what is the entry of the mind? It is the initiation of the mind of enlightenment. So, what is the abiding of the mind? It is that the mind of enlightenment does not tend towards quiescence. So, what is the entry of the mind? It is to have compassion for sentient beings. What is the abiding of the mind? It is endurance towards selflessness. So, what is entry? It is gathering all sentient beings. What is abiding? It is not clinging to all dharmas. So, what is entry? It is not being weary of samsara. What is abiding? It is not being attached to the three realms. So, what is entry? It is completely giving away all possessions. What is abiding? It is not being arrogant with generosity. So, what is entry? It is to properly receive teachings. What is abiding? It is not being arrogant with learning. So, what is entry? It is being patient and not being angry. What is abiding? It is not letting the mind be wounded. So, what is entry? It is initiating all roots of virtue. What is abiding? It is that the mind is in solitude. So, what is entry? It is to properly practice meditation. What is abiding? It is to contemplate the mind. So, what is entry? It is never being satisfied with hearing. What is abiding? It is proper application. So, what is entry? It is to teach the Dharma as it has been heard. What is abiding? It is the inexpressible nature of Dharma. So, what is entry? It is to completely seek the accumulation of wisdom. What is abiding? It is the complete cessation of elaboration. So, what is entry? It is the abodes of Brahma and so on. What is abiding?
