Reversing, virtuous thoughts, abiding in great compassion, and constantly engaging in the benefit of sentient beings, therefore it is called "conduct." Abandoning steps, placing steps, and manifesting the mind of enlightenment in all walking. When looking at sentient beings, also look, and do not fall into the side of afflictions, this is called the inexhaustible conduct of a Bodhisattva. Then, what is the inexhaustible perfect accomplishment of a Bodhisattva? Whenever a virtuous thought arises, it is completely dedicated to enlightenment, this is the inexhaustible perfect accomplishment of a Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because it is completely dedicated to enlightenment. The root of virtue that is completely dedicated to enlightenment will not be exhausted or depleted in the middle until it abides in the essence of enlightenment. Like the Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, a drop of water falling into the great ocean will not be exhausted or depleted in the middle until it is burned by the fire of the eon. Similarly, the root of virtue that is completely dedicated to enlightenment will not be exhausted or depleted in the middle until it abides in the essence of enlightenment. "Perfect accomplishment" refers to this true accomplishment, truly entering, that is the root of virtue that is truly accomplished, in order to save all sentient beings and to make all sentient beings fully mature, and in order to make all sentient beings abide in the root of virtue, these roots of virtue are completely dedicated, in order to attain the omniscient wisdom, these roots of virtue are completely dedicated. In order to make all sentient beings live happily, these roots of virtue are completely dedicated. In order to completely liberate all sentient beings from suffering, and in order to make all sentient beings rejoice in the omniscient wisdom, these roots of virtue are completely dedicated, this is called the inexhaustible perfect accomplishment of a Bodhisattva. Then, what is the inexhaustible method of a Bodhisattva making sentient beings fully mature? The realm of sentient beings is immeasurable, and a Bodhisattva should enter with such conduct. If

Therefore, in one day I will fully mature all beings belonging to the realm of the three-thousand great-thousand world system. In this way, for immeasurable, countless, and inconceivable eons, I will fully mature the realm of beings. I will fully mature that immeasurable, countless, and inconceivable realm of beings. Even having done so, not even one percent of beings will have matured. Not one in a hundred thousand, not one in a million, not one in a hundred million, not one in a thousand million, not one in a hundred thousand million, not a number or a part, not a count, not an analogy or a cause will have fully matured. If, upon hearing this detailed description, a Bodhisattva is not afraid, does not shrink back, and does not become discouraged, then he should be recognized as a Bodhisattva who has initiated diligence. This is the inexhaustible method by which a Bodhisattva fully matures beings. So, what is the inexhaustible accumulation of merit of a Bodhisattva? The merit of a Bodhisattva is immeasurable. A Bodhisattva should enter by means of such a counting method. All beings, past, present, and future, all learners and non-learners, all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, whatever merit they possess, if all that merit is multiplied by one hundred, then one pore of the Tathagata's body is accomplished. Likewise, each and every pore is fully accomplished, and the accumulation of merit contained in all the pores, if multiplied by one hundred, then one inexhaustible accumulation of merit is perfectly accomplished, thereby accomplishing one excellent mark of the Tathagata's body. Likewise, each and every excellent mark is fully accomplished. The accumulation of merit contained in all the excellent marks, if multiplied by one thousand, then one inexhaustible accumulation of merit is accomplished, thereby accomplishing one major mark of a great being on the Tathagata's body. Likewise, each of the thirty-two major marks of a great being on the body of the Tathagata is fully accomplished. The major marks of a great being

The accumulation of merit belonging to the thirty characteristics, transforming all of these into ten thousandfold, thereby perfectly accomplishing a single inexhaustible accumulation of merit, through which the Tathagata's body manifests the great being's mark of the white hair between the eyebrows. The accumulation of merit belonging to the white hair between the eyebrows, transforming all of these into a hundred thousandfold accumulation of merit, through perfectly accomplishing these accumulations of merit, the Tathagata's body manifests the great being's mark of the cranial protuberance on the head, which cannot be seen. The accumulation of merit belonging to the cranial protuberance, transforming it into a hundred millionfold, through perfectly accomplishing an accumulation of merit even greater than this, the Tathagata's Dharma conch will be completely accomplished. If the Tathagata wishes, this Dharma conch can make the boundless and limitless realms of the world hear the sound, and contemplate subduing with the Dharma, and satisfying the faculties of all sentient beings as they believe. Hearing this way of entering the accumulation of merit of a Bodhisattva, not being afraid, not rejoicing, and not becoming rejoiced, this is called the inexhaustible accumulation of merit of a Bodhisattva. Then, what is the inexhaustible accumulation of wisdom of a Bodhisattva? The accumulation of wisdom of a Bodhisattva is immeasurable. Bodhisattvas should enter into calculation in this way. Even if all the sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds possess the wisdom of following with faith, they cannot approach even one percent of those who possess the wisdom of following the Dharma. Not to mention one-thousandth, one hundred-thousandth, one millionth, one hundred millionth, one trillionth, one hundred trillionth, and counting, proportion, calculation, metaphor, and cause. Similarly, those who possess the wisdom of following the Dharma belong to those who possess the wisdom of the eighth ground. Those who possess the wisdom of the eighth ground belong to those who possess the wisdom of entering the stream.
