Therefore, Brahma's mother, Ishvara's mother, Vishnu's mother, and the pleasure goddess of the desire realm, he seized them with his power. Because he takes them with fierce strength, he is a hero. Even the rulers of the world are fearless and possess courage, so he is called a hero because of his nature to overwhelm others with his power. The four maras are known as the skandha mara, the klesha mara, the death mara, and the deva-putra mara. Because he completely eliminates and dispels whatever fears there are from those, he is called: 'The one who dispels the fears of the four maras.' Because he is victorious over the army of all maras, and defeats and overcomes the host of all maras, he is called: 'The perfectly enlightened Buddha who guides the world.' Thus it is said. It will be proclaimed thus: With love, compassion, and wisdom, having completely overcome afflictions, ignorance, and the enemies of the maras, he becomes manifestly and perfectly enlightened, and becomes the guide of the world, who is the Bhagavan, the noble Manjushri. Therefore, he is the one worthy of offerings, the one worthy of praise, the one who has become the object of prostration, the one who is always worthy of being depicted, the one worthy of respect, the supreme one who should not be forgotten, the best of the lamas worthy of prostration, and thus he is shown to be utterly unsurpassed. In order to show that the perfectly enlightened Buddha, the teacher of beings, travels unhindered for the benefit of all sentient beings in all ways, it is said: 'He strides across the three worlds in one step, subduing the endless expanse like the sky.' It is said that whoever travels through all three worlds in an instant with a single step is called that. Similarly, because the sky is endless, he possesses the complete subjugation of reaching its end, therefore it is said: 'Subduing the endless expanse like the sky.' The three vidyas are the three kinds of knowledge; because he possesses them, he is called the one with the three vidyas. So, what are the three kinds of knowledge of the Bodhisattvas? They are: the divine eye knowledge, the knowledge of remembering past lives, and the knowledge of the exhaustion of defilements. Vidya means wisdom.

Among them, the knowledge of the divine eye is the clarity of the divine eye. What is the clarity of the divine eye? It belongs to the pure deities, and the Bodhisattva possesses this clarity of the divine eye. Purity is referred to as wisdom. Who are the pure deities? They are the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas. These are the pure deities. The most excellent among the pure deities are the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas. They are called the most excellent of the pure deities. The Bodhisattva obtains the clarity of the divine eye of the pure deities, which is different from that of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. This is the first clarity. Furthermore, regarding the clarity of remembering past lives, the Tathāgata has no lack of knowledge, vision, or thought regarding the limits of the past. The Bodhisattva obtains this clarity, which is different from that of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. This is the second clarity. Furthermore, what is the clarity of the exhaustion of defilements? It is the four defilements. What are the four defilements? They are the defilements of desire, existence, ignorance, and views. The Bodhisattva realizes these defilements through the path, abandoning them together with their latent tendencies. This is different from the path of abandoning the obscurations of afflictions of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. After the exhaustion of these defilements, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, there is unimpeded taking of rebirth in all places of birth. This is called the Bodhisattva's clarity of the exhaustion of defilements. Because the Bodhisattva possesses three clarities, he is called one with three clarities. Worldly people consider the science of language, the science of sacrifice, and the science of poetry as the three clarities. Worldly people speak of purity because they possess pure conduct based on what they have heard. According to the transcendent way, all phenomena that are mixed with all the impurities of the afflictive latent tendencies of manifest clinging to self and what belongs to self, and that are separated from them, are pure because they are washed by the collection of waters of selflessness. That itself is all faults.
