Thus, ascertainment through discrimination, etc., are not causes, for they would become causeless, and would become diverse and undifferentiated. Apart from that, no entity would exist, and all entities would necessarily not arise from other. If it is asserted that diverse natures of effects universally arise from diverse natures of causes, then those accomplished by causes and actions must be sought. How do the distinctions of the nature of causes arise from the power of objects, faculties, and attention? Consciousness also does not arise from objects, nor from faculties, nor from the action of attention. From the faculties, the apprehension of objects will be separately determined, but not from others. Similarly, comprehension will occur from attention itself, but not from other means. Causes, actions, and the manifold of objects themselves will not be perceived from the undifferentiated mode of the distinctions of the nature of effects. This is like acknowledging here reliance on the doctrine of the Sage King. How can the distinctions of the effects of certain entities not become manifold with their non-difference, since manifoldness and oneness are mutually contradictory? Appearances in objects, etc., also act in accordance with how objects are, being non-different from consciousness. Similarly, comprehension of modes, etc., and attention, etc., which are non-different from it, will also revert from manifoldness itself. Therefore, this fault will not occur, but it is asserted that it is different from the effect of distinction. Even so, from causes and actions, since they are closely associated with those themselves, that effect will appear causeless. Actions are not different in themselves, but distinctions are considered twofold. Because the distinction is other, whatever is emanated by your Lord of Power is not other than the mode of knowledge, so it does not arise from its form. Because what is similar to it is not other, form also arises here. By whatever arises and does not arise, likewise, the born is not the progenitor. Becoming one, without contradiction, at once it is said to be that itself. If these are not other.

By what means is the distinction made? Because of the fault of speaking, it leads to logical fallacy, like an elephant's bath. If it is thought that one cause produces one effect, then it would lead to becoming blind and deaf, etc. The arising of something with eyes, etc., the consciousness produced by the later moment does not arise. If consciousness itself produces, then because its own part does not meet with the later moment, there is no eye, etc., in the second moment, so it is good to avoid becoming deaf, etc. Therefore, all valid cognitions that assert many actions and agents, and Ishvara, etc., or a single cause, are destroyed. From the collection, the results arise sequentially, so if the result arises from the destruction of the cause, then it would lead to being without a cause here, because it is impossible to conceive of a lotus in the sky as a cause. Otherwise, if it is thought to arise from something that has not been destroyed, then the cause and effect would become simultaneous. It is unreasonable to consider the left and right horns of a cow as cause and effect, because the arising of a previously non-existent power and a result without power, and the simultaneous arising of cause and effect, are clearly contradictory. Or, if it is thought to be simultaneous with the result after arising, then simultaneity itself is said to be contradictory. Even then, it would contradict becoming a collection after arising, because it is impossible to produce a very large number of results. Or, if it is thought that there is no fault in the result arising at the time of the destruction of the cause, then this is merely remaining in a state of contemplation. Even then, it should be said, what cause is destroyed? Is it the nature of the cause itself? Or do things, being of the nature of momentary existence, perish? Or does the cause cease? If it is the nature of the cause itself, then it would lead to the cause and effect being simultaneous. Or, if the cause is destroyed, then from where does it become simultaneous with the result? A non-existent thing never arises at any time, and if it arises in some way, then it is with a cause, and consciousness becomes a thing.
