In order to explain the distinction of the actions of the dance that transcend the basis, it is said: The mandala of the earth, the extent of the foundation. One foot presses down with its sole. The extent of the toenail, also presses down from the top of the realm of Brahma. This is what is said. The mandala of the earth is the mandala of the great earth. Its foundation is the upper part, which is pressed down by the sole of one foot, held by pressing down with weight, and thus resides there. Therefore, it is said: The mandala of the earth, the extent of the foundation. One foot presses down with its sole. The word "earth" in the realm of Brahma refers to the shape of a skull from the top of existence to the edge of the sky, which is commonly accepted by the heretics. Its top is the upper part, which is the top of the realm of Brahma. To press down means to suppress. With which foot and where does it press down from the top of the realm of Brahma? It is the toenail of that foot that is placed there, which is: The extent of the toenail also presses down from the top of the realm of Brahma. This is what is taught, that the sole of one foot presses down on the foundation from below, and the tip of the toe of the second foot presses down from the top of the realm of Brahma, suppressing it well by means of gathering the actions of the dance, deep and stable, filling all directions of the sky with dance, endowed with immaculate and boundless art, and Manjushri resides there performing great dances. Others say: The toenail resides, pressing down from the top of the realm of Brahma. As it is said, it resides in the mandala of the earth, pressing down with one foot. If asked, where is that? The answer is: the toenail. If one wonders, with what extent does it reside? The answer is: pressing down from the top of the realm of Brahma. On the toenail of such a distinguished foot, the Bhagavan resides, which is the remaining meaning of the words. Or, that which resides on the extent of the foundation of the mandala of the earth is that which presses down from the top of the realm of Brahma, that is, it also resides there with the toenail of the foot, as it is said. It is reasonable to combine the placement with both, but here, one should combine it with the meaning of the verses and their significance, and not do it arbitrarily.

Distinguishing is connecting with external teachings. If, after examination, other sentences are slightly changed, that is unreasonable and will become unorthodox. In order to subdue the various sentient beings in the various ways of subduing, those vast images are spoken of. But ultimately: One meaning, non-dual Dharma meaning, the meaning of the ultimate is without fear. This means, what is the only meaning? It is the meaning of the non-dual Dharma, the nature of Suchness that is free from all elaboration, the non-dual wisdom. Ultimately, it does not change, because it is constant and exists in all forms, so it is said: The meaning of the ultimate is without fear. Thus, although it is the nature of non-dual and extremely pure wisdom, due to the power of the great compassion and aspiration of past habituation, in order to be compatible with the sentient beings to be tamed who appear in various ways, various kinds of consciousness are manifested, so it is said: Various kinds of intelligence possess form and meaning. Mind is non-discriminating wisdom. Consciousness is characterized by discrimination, that is, the mind with discrimination. These two enter through the entry of the continuum, that is, the stream of mind with and without discrimination, like a very clear mirror surface, in order to manifest in accordance with the capacity of the sentient beings to be tamed, so it is said: Mind and consciousness possess continuum. All things are examined through the ways of self-characteristics and common characteristics. Rejoicing there is universal attachment, because that is what must be examined. That is to say, only by understanding the self-nature of all things can one become a Buddha, but if one is attached to things, one cannot discern the self-nature of things. Therefore, in order to make those who are attached to things rejoice, it is said: Rejoice in all things. Ultimately, rejoicing in emptiness and being without attachment, being free from the joy of attachment, is rejoicing in emptiness. For the two realms of form and formlessness,
