Since it has transcended all, it is called: Transcending all afflictive defilements. Since it has transcended the afflictive defilements measured in the three times of past, future, and present, and is the nature of the Dharma-nature equal to space, it is called: Knower of the three times without time. In order to tame the difficult to tame, it is properly tamed, well tamed, and courageous in completely conquering the battlefield of afflictions, hence it is a great Naga. As stated in the scriptures, it is called a Naga because all actions are tamed. Or, because it is similar to a great Naga, it is a great Naga. Since it pacifies all afflictive sufferings and becomes the cause of raining down the Dharma-rain of good speech, it is called: Great Naga of all sentient beings. Merit is supreme, hence it is the crest, because it is the word of the loud "Shekhara". Since it is the crest of those, it is the crest of the crested ones. Or, merit itself is the crest, which is the ultimate perfection. The crest of those is the crest of the extremely immaculate jewel of merit, hence it is also called that. Liberation from all afflictions. Called: Completely liberated from all afflictions. Therefore, like space, it is free from all obscurations, and in the non-conceptual Dharma-realm, it abides well in the Dharma-nature of all Buddhas, and with its immutable nature, it also becomes its nature, hence it is called: Well abiding in the path of space. This is taught in order to tame sentient beings who rejoice in non-differentiation. If in the non-conceptual Dharma-realm, one is completely liberated from all obscurations, and with an immutable nature abides well in its nature, then how can one perfectly accomplish the intentions of all sentient beings? If there are no afflictions, perhaps one can still tame with birth and so on; if there is no conceptualization, then teaching the Dharma is also impossible. Therefore, like the son of a widow, for those who seek higher rebirth and liberation, there will be no method. In order to dispel the inconsistent conceptual thoughts of those with evil wisdom, in the manner of an example

In order to show that those who are free from all suffering and have no conceptualization are also engaged in the work of benefiting all sentient beings, it is said: "Holding the great wish-fulfilling jewel, it is the supreme of all precious lords." This means that the nature of mind, which is all-pervasive and vast, and is the nature of the Dharmadhatu, is the great wish-fulfilling jewel. It is precisely this that fulfills the wishes of all sentient beings without exception, because it is impossible to have anything more supreme than the external appearance of the wish-fulfilling jewel. Even if there is, it cannot bestow omniscience, etc., but although there is no conceptualization, it can satisfy the needs of those who pray with hope in their hearts. To that extent, external precious jewels can also be used as metaphors. Therefore, saying "It is the supreme of all precious lords" in this way makes a distinction. "The great wish-fulfilling tree is luxuriant, the excellent vase is the supreme of the vast" is also the same principle. If the meaning can be understood with just one metaphor, then what is the use of the other two metaphors? Understanding the meaning is indeed true, but nevertheless, because some metaphors are more famous than others, other metaphors are shown. Or, in order to show that there are superior, medium, and inferior abilities, metaphors are shown separately. That is to say, the wish-fulfilling jewel starts from its own direction and fulfills the wishes of those who are within a thousand yojanas; the wish-fulfilling tree is also for those who are within its own shade; the excellent vase also fulfills the wishes of those who reach their hands into it, while those who do not reach in are its qualities. This non-dual and inconceivable Dharmadhatu wish-fulfilling jewel, because it can fulfill the hopes of all sentient beings immeasurably, is the great wish-fulfilling tree. Because it has an all-pervasive shade, it is luxuriant, because there is no dharma that is not the nature of the Dharmadhatu, this is established by reason. Because it is the same as space, without obscuration, and has all mouths, it is said to be "the excellent vase is the supreme of the vast." In this way, although there is no conceptualization, the mind exists as the nature of being outwardly unobscured.
