Because in their mind streams, each appears as the form of that (five elements). "The great elements are of one cause." That is to say, What is meant by "great elements" are the four, such as earth. If space is also a great element, then why is it said to be four when there are five great elements? Because they are both great and arising, they are great elements. Because space is vast and pervasive in place and direction, the earth element and so on are great in themselves. Furthermore, the four, such as the earth element, are "arising" because they arise from the distinction of uncommon karma. Therefore, space is indeed great, because it is the space for the arising of all forms. But it is not "arising," because it is unconditioned. Because the meaning of "arising" is the meaning of things. Therefore, space is not a great element. Therefore, there are only four great elements. These four great elements, their cause, that is, the agent, is the one and only non-dual, that is the explanation for this. "Bhikkhu, Arhat, exhausted, free from desire, subdued senses." That is to say, What is meant by Bhikkhu, in the Abhidharma, four types of Bhikkhus are mentioned, namely, name Bhikkhu, begging Bhikkhu, ordained Bhikkhu, and Bhikkhu of true meaning. Among these four, this is the Bhikkhu of true meaning, because he is free from afflictions and is not shaken by all demons. What is meant by Arhat, the enemy is affliction, because he has the ability to conquer these afflictions, he is an Arhat. Or because he has the nature of not falling back into samsara, or because he has completely perfected all meanings, he is able to appropriately teach others, or because he is suitable to be an object of offering to the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, or because he is suitable to be offered to by the lords of the three realms in various ways, or because he is suitable for making practice offerings to the unsurpassed Tathagatas, therefore he is called Arhat. That is, Bhagavan. What is meant by exhausted outflows, What is meant by "outflows" are the four roots of unwholesome dharmas, which flow out and arise.

What is it for? The pus of affliction flows, from the peak of existence to the Avīci hell, the six sense sources (six sense sources, Sanskrit: ṣaḍāyatana, Romanized Sanskrit: shad-ayatana, literal Chinese meaning: six places of birth) afflict beings from the wounds of the six sense sources. Because they harm, they are the outflows of affliction. The five objects such as form, and that which arises together with ignorance, and that which is completely imputed by the nature arising from pervasive imputation, and the sixty-two views, these are called ignorance. The outflows of desire, the outflows of existence, the outflows of ignorance, and the outflows of views are spoken of. The morality of the non-learner and the aggregate of concentration exhaust the outflow of desire. The aggregate of wisdom of the non-learner exhausts the outflow of views. The aggregate of liberation of the non-learner exhausts the outflow of existence. The aggregate of the wisdom of liberation of the non-learner exhausts the outflow of ignorance. On the ground of perfect morality, or on the ground of seeing, correct view exhausts the outflow of views. On the ground of perfect concentration, or on the path of non-returning, correct concentration exhausts the outflow of desire. On the ground of perfect wisdom, or on the path of the Arhat, correct liberation exhausts the outflow of ignorance. On the ground of perfect liberation, or with the two wisdoms of exhaustion and non-arising, the outflow of existence is exhausted. On the path of the Arhat, or, because of completely knowing the afflictions of desire, the outflow of desire is exhausted. Because of completely knowing the aggregate of formation, the outflow of ignorance is exhausted. Because of ignorance as the condition, formations are made. Because of completely knowing the aggregate of afflictions, the outflow of views is exhausted. Because of completely knowing the essence of the aggregates, the outflow of existence is exhausted. Because of completely knowing the truth of suffering, the outflow of views is exhausted. All views are focused on the five aggregates of clinging. Because of abandoning all the truth of suffering and the truth of origin, the outflow of desire is exhausted. Because of realizing the truth of cessation, the outflow of existence is exhausted. Merely by meditating on the truth of the path, the outflow of ignorance is exhausted. Because of abandoning the outflow of desire.

Then the son of the gods was defeated by Mara. Because the outflows of existence are exhausted, the Mara of the Lord of Death is defeated. Because ignorance is abandoned, the Mara of affliction is defeated. Because the outflows of views are exhausted, the Mara of aggregates is defeated. Because of supremely triumphing over the four Maras, the Bhagavan Manjushri is said to have exhausted the outflows. Therefore, whatever is the exhaustion of these outflows, it is called that. The so-called detachment from desire is because the afflictions that universally exist in the three realms, with the distinction of the sixteen aspects of the four noble truths, the ninety-eight kinds of afflictions, are abandoned by the two paths of seeing and meditation. Therefore, it is said to be detached from desire. For the very reason that it is called taming the senses, because all realms of experience cannot be overcome. By obtaining bliss, one obtains fearlessness. By becoming cool, there is no turbidity. That is, obtaining bliss is the activity of the body, and whatever is obtained is the obtaining of bliss. Fear is dread, and whoever does not have it is without fear. Being without fear is the activity of speech, because all the words of the activity of speech are without fault. Obtaining the activity of speech is obtaining fearlessness. Becoming cool is because with the nature of peace, one sees that everything disappears from the movement of the mind, and at first one is overcome by desire and so on, and later one abandons it, so one becomes cool. For the very reason that the body, speech, and mind are without sorrow, it is said that there is no turbidity. Possessing knowledge and feet. The Sugata is the best of worldly knowledge. As for possessing knowledge and feet, it is because he shows the wisdom being, showing the cause of obtaining the perfect teacher, knowledge and feet are the eight limbs of the noble path, right view is knowledge, and the other limbs are feet. It is said that if one has not seen and has no feet, one cannot walk. The three trainings are knowledge and feet, namely the training in higher wisdom, the training in higher ethics, and the training in higher mind. Among them, wisdom is knowledge. The two are feet. Proceeding with wisdom as the forerunner is feet.
