It should be done in the manner of binding. Slightly loosen it with a graceful posture, and finally join the palms together, reciting "Vajra Tuṣya Hūṃ (བཛྲ་ཏུ་ཥྱ་ཧོཿ, Devanagari: वज्रतुष्य होः, Romanized Sanskrit: vajratuṣya hoḥ, meaning: Vajra Delight Hūṃ)", and put on the armor. This putting on of armor is also described in other extensive Kriya Yoga Tantras. Vajrasattva Glorious Union says: By acting in accordance with reality, clenching both vajra fists, act in the manner of putting on armor. Two on the crown of the head and forehead, two on the chest and back, bound by a vajra garland, and the jewel of the Buddha's crown, after binding in the manner of binding, release from the edges with a majestic posture. By making the method of raising a banner, stabilize it by clapping the palms. After protecting with this, it is like the glory of Vajrasattva. The indestructible and indivisible vajra body is perfectly accomplished. Epidemics, poisons, and earth-poison diseases, harassment by dakinis and demons, and all that makes the limbs uncomfortable, if protected by this, will not be able to invade. This is the mudra called Glorious Vajra. So it is said. Again, in the same tantra: Binding with the binding of the headdress, release from the edges with a majestic posture. Like the end of a silk banner swaying, after doing this, clap the palms. So it is said. Thus, protection should be done by those who have received empowerment and require rituals with special yoga. How should protection be done? Protection is done in a way that is superior to the Kriya Tantra. There, because of extreme delight in signs, all protection relies on substances. Either with the secret mantra that performs all actions, or even with the enemy of demons, certainly with mustard seeds and so on, first universally dispel. So it is said. Here, it is accomplished by mantras and mudras alone, which arise from the power of inner yoga, so it does not depend on such substances. Therefore, first strike the extremely fierce demons with the mantras and mudras of the wrathful deities, that is, strike and kill them with the vajra in one's own hand. The intermediate demons are burned, because the light of fire radiates from the vajra, burning and tormenting them, so they scatter. The extremely subtle demons with very little power do not depend on merely subduing them, so only binding is done, that is, with the light of the vajra in one's own hand, one should think that they are bound by the five bindings. Thus, the demons.

After expelling them, now, for the purpose of binding the directions and so forth, the Vajra Binding and so forth are mentioned. Here, in brief, from Vajra Fire and so on up to Vajra Hum, all the different mantras and mudras should be performed while abiding in the yoga of Vajra blazing like the fire of the sun, and not by others, because it is especially abiding for the sake of protection, having arisen first. Then, the collected liberation of each of these deities should also be visualized as being only this Bhagavan. Otherwise, performing the actions of arising, empowerment, and donning armor for each of these individually will result in endless elaboration. Among them, the first is the binding of the lower direction. This protection is mostly related to the work of colored powders in the mandala, because many obstacles arise from the earth. Therefore, one should protect against unpleasant non-gods, unpleasant nagas, unpleasant earth lords, and even insects that walk on feet, as they rise from below and cause harm. As it is said, "From below, the earth cracks and shakes." The two protections above are because powerful celestial demons arise from above, as it is said, "From above are the powerful gods." Because in that direction, the army of evil demons resides. Similarly, the eastern direction is also bound twice, because the Gandharvas and gods also exercise power from that direction. Then, the western direction is bound because clouds, hail, and rain are very incompatible with the mandala, and these are caused by the nagas, who mostly reside in the Naga City in the western ocean of Jambudvipa (the Earth), possessing enjoyment. Now, in order to show that the teacher said that the boundaries can also be bound only through those rituals of binding the directions, it is said that the obstacles of the directions, boundaries, lower and upper directions have been cut off. By binding the eastern direction, the southeast is bound; by binding the western direction, the northwest is bound; similarly, by binding the southern direction, the southwest is bound; by binding the northern direction, the northeast is bound, and it is also connected below. The first and the fire god, etc., are similar in the category of gods, and Yama and Rakshasa, etc., are similar in activity and enjoyment, existing in common and individual.
