When casting the vajra kīla mudrā upon the Tathāgatas and other beings, this should be combined with "Oṃ Vajra Kīli Kīlaya Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཀཱི་ལི་ཀཱི་ལ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：嗡 班扎 枳里 枳拉 亚 吽，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ vajra kīli kīlaya hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ Vajra Kīli Kīlaya Hūṃ)." This is because the distinctions between the mantras and mudrās of the kīlas of the Tathāgatas and other beings have not been clearly explained. The so-called vajra fist is when the left vajra fist holds a kīla made of sandalwood or other materials and places it on the head of the object to be accomplished. Then, striking it with the right vajra fist is the vajra hammer mudrā, which should be combined with the mantra "Oṃ Vajra Muṅgara Ā Koṭa Ya Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་མུངྒ་ར་ཨཱ་ཀོ་ཊ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：嗡 班扎 蒙嘎 惹 阿 郭 达 亚 吽，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ vajra muṅgara ā koṭa ya hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ Vajra Muṅgara Ā Koṭa Ya Hūṃ)." This is the general method for casting kīlas. However, when casting kīlas with samādhi and mudrā, one should contemplate placing the kīla with the mudrā itself and strike it in the same way. After "two hands," etc., the vajra fists of both hands should be joined back to back, the two little fingers should be intertwined, and the two index fingers should be separated and bound like iron fetters. This mudrā should also be combined with the mantra "Oṃ Vajra Sphoṭa Bandha Ya Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སྥོ་ཊ་བནྡྷ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：嗡 班扎 斯坡 达 班达 亚 吽，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ vajra sphoṭa bandha ya hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ Vajra Sphoṭa Bandha Ya Hūṃ)." Since it is appropriate to please after binding, one should seize the mudrā just described, holding the mantra and mudrā shown in other tantras, and move it like a bell at the heart. This is the vajra descending mudrā, which should be combined with "Oṃ Vajra Ā Be Śa Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཨཱ་བེ་ཤ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：嗡 班扎 阿 贝 舍 吽，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ vajra ā be śa hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ Vajra Ā Be Śa Hūṃ)." Since binding occurs after insertion, it should be known that this merely indicates the vajra noose mudrā. After binding the vajra hook mudrā, making the two index fingers into a noose is the vajra noose mudrā, which should be combined with "Oṃ Vajra Pāśa Pra Be Śa Ya Hūṃ (藏文：ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་པཱ་ཤ་པྲ་བེ་ཤ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ།，梵文天城体：嗡 班扎 巴 夏 扎 贝 舍 亚 吽，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ vajra pāśa pra be śa ya hūṃ，汉语字面意思：Oṃ Vajra Pāśa Pra Be Śa Ya Hūṃ)." The vajra and other chapter mudrās, whether it is the practice of Yamāntaka or any other deity, should be purified with the secret mantra of that deity. Starting from the head of the object to be accomplished, together with the words of exhortation to "purify," this is the practice of the activity of manifest action. The vajra rākṣasī mudrā, reciting "Alala," and using the practice of noble Yamāntaka or any other deity, seize the protection of the object to be accomplished, and in front place the vajra rākṣasa and others.
