The differences between the ground, practice, and what is to be practiced, etc., have been explained in the chapter on Prajñāpāramitā, and should be understood from there. In the second chapter of the glorious Supreme First, from the root tantra, the contemplation of the four sisters has been completely explained. After explaining the contemplation of the four brothers, now, starting from "thereafter," the mandala of the Asuras, including Kṣetrapāla, etc., is taught. The word "thereafter" means, as before, immediately following the initial union. Here, the initial union is explained in the chapter on the three brothers. The Asuras offered their own essence. After offering those essences, the Asura mandala that appears thereafter is the second samādhi. After that, the gathering begins, and it should be known as the third. In order to show the ritual of reciting and meditating after obtaining the vows and empowerment, the ritual of the teacher's actions and the entry of the disciples, etc., are extensively shown. It arises from "thereafter, the mandala," etc., and should be connected implicitly. Starting from "digging," etc., about twenty-four fingers wide, set up four steps, dig the ground in a place eight cubits long, and draw a square mandala there, with the door facing east and facing upwards. After drawing in this way, draw the wheel of Kṣetrapāla in its center. In the center of its east, draw the Asura lord, Delightful Supreme. In the south, draw the one who weaves well, in the west, draw the one with skillful hands, and in the north, draw the Asura lord named Rakshasa, all of which should be drawn with their retinues. Draw the daughters of the Asuras in the four corners. The meaning of "entering the wheel" is that after drawing the mandala in this way, bind the hand seal of the wheel, and with it, take the garland of flowers and let the teacher enter. After that, perform one's own ritual, invite and invoke Kṣetrapāla and his retinue, this is the concluding remark. After inviting them as they are, after offering the five offerings to Kṣetrapāla and his retinue, offer fish and other tormas to the Asura lord and his retinue.
