They abide in samsara in a manner that does not transcend evil deeds. The term "ni" means to definitely grasp. The term "as long as" is a word that shows the meaning one wants to express without leaving anything out. As such, saving sentient beings means that from the great ocean of samsara, only by extending hand gestures such as the Great Seal, they bestow Buddhahood and thus save them. Thus it is said, only as long as they abide in samsara in a manner of non-abiding nirvana, so long do the Bodhisattvas extend hand gestures such as the Great Seal with the force of previous actions, thereby saving them from the immeasurable great ocean of samsara of sentient beings. The term nirvana, etc., like the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, if they completely pass into nirvana with no remainder, then they cannot greatly benefit sentient beings when the end of samsara is endless. Why? Because it is said that there is an obscuration of Bodhi, that is, the obscuration and hindrance to the Bodhi of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, therefore they possess the obscuration of Bodhi. Because they become extremely invisible, therefore, due to nirvana, they cannot benefit beings. Therefore, in order to accomplish the non-abiding nirvana of the Bodhisattva, one should cultivate the path of the Bodhisattva, the union of skillful means and wisdom. Thus it is taught. Therefore, the term "because of that," etc., the word "ni" means "for what reason." Because for what reason does one become extremely invisible due to nirvana without remainder, therefore one cannot benefit sentient beings. Therefore, the holy Bodhisattvas have no end. As long as samsara exists, they abide in samsara, and without abandoning the existences of the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm, in the manner of samsara, with the nature of non-abiding nirvana, solely for the benefit of sentient beings, that is, for the benefit of sentient beings. They do not abandon samsara, but desire and completely wish for it. It is not due to attachment to things. Then how is it? It is said, "The supreme Dharma of all purity." The term all.
