This is called "Entering into the Supreme Essence of Self". Why enter in this way? Because the word "impure" is spoken, that is, because the realm of sentient beings is impure. What is the cause? It is said, "Desire and so on are all accumulated." There are desires and so on, and there is everything, so it is all desires and so on. Those that have been accumulated from beginningless time, so they are accumulated in large quantities. Because of accumulating desires and so on, therefore, because the realm of sentient beings has become impure, therefore it is shown to enter into equanimity. "Also clinging to them" refers to those such as desire and hatred, clinging to them extremely, clinging in the manner of approaching women and killing, and being extremely irreversible, continuously, is the supreme person, is known and understood by the supreme of persons. How can one cling to those extremely? Because they are not subdued, even if the Buddha possesses the supreme, he does not subdue them, so it is said, in order to subdue those, the Buddha does not subdue them, nor is he the master. Why? Because it is said "not subdued", that is, not subdued in a peaceful way, so it is for that reason. "Supreme" means extremely. Thus, because the Buddha does not subdue, therefore it is said "for the world" and so on, in order to benefit those sentient beings who are overwhelmed by ignorance, the supreme of the world, the Blessed One Vajrasattva, abides in entering into equanimity. What does he enter into equanimity with? It is said, "Entering into the Supreme Essence of Self", that is, entering into the supreme good essence of one's own nature. This statement is saying that, for the realm of sentient beings who are subdued by the aspect of Vajrasattva and the Tathagata, as well as the charming, peaceful, and wrathful aspects of the Vajra family, after being well established, in order to subdue the sentient beings who are subdued by the aspect of compassion, the Blessed One Great Vajradhara, enters into the samadhi of the Holy Avalokiteshvara. Here, this is

The so-called "is" and so on are explanations of this very thing. The so-called "this" is said with the following explanation in mind. The samadhi of all Tathagatas is the individual realization that all dharmas are naturally pure in the manner of the Lord of the World. Therefore, it also subdues other samadhis with its power, and because it is beautiful and blazing, it is the king. This itself is the samadhi called "the mudra of the vajra blessing of the wisdom of the dharmata of the natural purity of all dharmas." The natural purity of all dharmas is the mind and mental factors that have the nature of prajnaparamita, and the lotus family. Their dharmata is suchness. Its wisdom is certainty. It itself cannot be generated or destroyed by all discriminations, so it is like a vajra, therefore it is a vajra. The samadhi that blesses it and acts as the body of the Lord of the World is called by that name. Because all the Tathagatas are called Vairochana and so on by observing and directly doing whatever samadhi, the three realms are called without remainder, that is, the master of all three existences. The intention of the Holy Avalokiteshvara is direct realization, and in order to tame all sentient beings, the body of the Holy Avalokiteshvara becomes immeasurable. This is the concluding statement. Now, in order to explain the secret of practicing samadhi, "with humility" and so on are said. With the left lotus fist holding the vajra lotus, making a gesture of humility with it, and then with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand, opening the petals in the direction of one's own heart, thus contemplating and seeing. What does one see with? "Nature" is mentioned, one's own essence is nature, that is, the suchness of all dharmas. Seeing with nature is meditating that all dharmas are naturally pure. This is the concluding statement. How does one see? To the best of one's ability.

It is said by the name of 'Samadhi,' to meditate in accordance with one's own ability is the Samadhi to the best of one's ability. With this Samadhi to the best of one's ability, one can distinguish and observe the petals of the lotus. The so-called 'How is that' and so on, is to elaborate on the manner of observation. Just as this red lotus in the hand of the practitioner is entirely because it is in accordance with the color red. The fault of color is the flaw of color, that is, the failure to completely remove the mixture with other substances. Not being stained by it means not being mixed. Even if the lotus is red, it is not stained by the water from the little finger and various flaws such as petals because it has the property of not being mixed. Similarly, the Bodhisattva who is pure in the three realms, has great compassion, and is without attachment to self, is free from the defilements of afflictions such as desire and near afflictions. By what cause does one contemplate and manifest this Samadhi? By that cause, the Tathagatas become the lords, they become the lords of the world. The so-called 'By that' means by that cause. Vajrasattva is the great Vajradhara. Avalokiteshvara discerns and observes in that way, therefore he is called the lord, that is, he becomes the chief, becomes like that and brings it near. This shows: binding the great mudra of the lord of the world, reciting the essence of 'Ya Tha Rakta Mi Dam Padma Dama Gato Shi Rana Lali Jya Te. Ba Sa Do She Shva Bi Bi Da De Ta Dudda Tri Dhatu Kam' (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Chinese literal meaning), and by the power of practicing this essence, in order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, how the Blessed One becomes the lord of the world, similarly, by the power of practicing and observing this essence in detail, Vajrasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, becomes the lord.
