In the hearts of all places, in the midst of the blazing vajra, mentally write the seed syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Recite it with vajra words or wrathful words, and meditate until the mandala is clearly seen when practicing it daily. In this way, one should recite and meditate. In this way, the preliminary practice will be well accomplished. Having completed the preliminary practice in this way, begin by meditating on the three samadhis for seven days, and then meditate on the mandala. After that, draw the mandala daily, monthly, or yearly. The drawing location should be considered in the northern and eastern boundary of a temple, monastery, town, city, or village. If drawn in the east of the mandala, the king will be victorious, but it will cause much harm to the local people. If drawn in the south of any city, that city will become a ruin. Whoever is targeted by the drawing will die. If drawn in the west, the teacher of the mandala will die. If drawn in the north, whoever enters that place will die. If drawn in the fire direction, there will be no rain and there will be fire disasters. If drawn in an unreal place, there will be famine. If drawn in the wind direction, there will be heavy rain. Therefore, one should rely on the direction of the city's ruler and fully examine the land. Do not be near a stupa, nor in a windy place. In the place of a stupa, one will die. In the place of trees, one will also die. In the place of dragons, one will die, and dropsy will occur. In the places mentioned above, remove stones, bones, tiles, chaff, coal, and so on, and then draw the mandala. Because in a place with stones, wind will occur. In a place with bones, one will be nailed. In a place with tiles, one will become stupid. In a place with chaff and coal, there will be epidemics. The land in the directions mentioned above should also be considered as the land of the four castes: Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras.

It should be drawn. Among them, white represents the Brahmin caste. In that place, if someone wants to practice wisdom, they should use incense powder, rosaries, kusha grass, fragrant grass, spoons, and other items. It is essential to draw the mandala there. Red represents the Kshatriya caste. If someone practices it, they should use vajras, wheels, swords, spears, short spears, Mahadeva, javelins, iron arrows, and so on to practice. Draw the mandala there with these. Yellow represents the Vaishya caste. If someone practices there, they should practice with battle-axes, ropes, ornaments, and so on, and draw the mandala with these. Black represents the Shudra caste. In that place, draw another mandala. Draw lines with threads of five colors. The lines should not be too thick, nor too thin, nor broken, but continuous. If the lines are too thin, they will generate the actions of eaters. If the lines are too thick, they will generate the abode of dragons. Thus spoke the Bhagavan Vajradhara. First, temporarily possessing all the necessary implements, in the center of the most desired place, use human bone powder and so on to ward off the obstacles of the mandala. The guru and disciple should perform a peaceful fire offering. Then, with Vajrakilaya, expel the malicious forces and secure the location. Again, with mustard seeds, water, and ashes, recite the mantra over that mandala seven times and scatter them. Dig about a cubit or a fathom in that place, recite the mantra, and remove hair, chaff, bones, gravel, ashes, coal, and so on. Clean it thoroughly, fill it with soil soaked in fragrant incense water, and repeatedly sprinkle it with fragrant water that has been fully recited with the Vajrasekhara mantra, and beat it all around. Then, build a very level multi-storied house with four doors, decorate the four stables, and make windows in the four directions, completely surrounding it. There, let a very intelligent disciple place the five types of dung into a burning container, starting from the east, completely reciting the Vajrakilaya mantra. Cleanse and sprinkle with fragrant water that has been fully recited, and recite it.
