In reality, it is said thus: Because it causes injury, it is called an arrow. Because it makes one content, it is called good. The term 'good' is a sign. Why is it called good? Therefore, it is said because it makes one content. It means that from complete contentment, goodness is bestowed. Because of adornment, it is said to be a jewel. This is the seal of a jewel. Why is it called a jewel? Therefore, it is said because of adornment. It is said thus: In the sense of establishing as the master, it is called a jewel. Because the Tathagata also uses it for empowerment, it is also for establishing him as the king of Dharma in the three realms. In the manner of splendor, it is called the sun, and the sun is the seal of the Bhagavan's light. Why? Therefore, it is said in the manner of splendor. It is said thus: The orb of the sun rises and appears sublime, emitting rays of light, dispelling darkness. Just as it illuminates all things, so too, the orb of the Bhagavan's wisdom sun emits rays of wisdom, dispelling all the darkness of sentient beings' ignorance, and thus revealing how things truly abide. It is said that the victory banner is well erected. The term 'victory banner' is a sign. Why? Therefore, it is said that it is well erected. This is the sign of the bodhisattvas' perfection of generosity, erecting the image of a wish-fulfilling jewel, a precious victory banner, and therefore it is manifestly expressed as a victory banner. A smile is known as blossoming. The term 'smile' is a sign. Why? Therefore, it is said to be known as blossoming. Because a slight laugh is a smile, this is the meaning of the essence of sound. For the purification of desire, it is a lotus. This is the sign of a lotus. Why? Therefore, it is said for the purification of desire. Because attachment is desire, its purification is the absence of afflictions, it is the ripening and liberation of sentient beings.

It is desire. Because it is the nature of desire, it is desire itself. Because desire is pure, it is said to be a lotus. As for "the sword cuts off the enemy of affliction," the sword is a symbol. The mind's continuum is afflicted and defiled by sinful, unwholesome dharmas, so it is affliction, such as desire. That itself is harmful, so it is an enemy. Cutting it off means that undeluded wisdom arises, making it no longer arise. Thus, in order to cut off the enemies of affliction, it is a sword. As for "in the manner of a mandala, it is a wheel," the wheel is a symbol. Why? Therefore, it is said, "in the manner of a wheel." This shows that the mandala is the cause of manifestation, so that symbol is called a wheel. As for "speaking by expressing the meaning of words," "speaking" is a symbol, the characteristic of the tongue. Why? Therefore, it is said, "expressing in words," meaning producing words. As for "for the sake of variety, it is Samantabhadra Vajra," "Samantabhadra Vajra" is a symbol. Why? Therefore, it is said, "for the sake of variety." This shows that because it pervades everything, it is variety. As for "in an indestructible manner, it is armor," "armor" is a symbol. Why? Therefore, it is said, "in an indestructible manner," because it cannot be destroyed at any time, so this quality is called indestructible, and possessing this quality is armor. As for "in a terrifying manner, it is a tusk," "tusk" is an explicit expression of a symbol. Why? Therefore, it is said, "in a terrifying manner," because it truly generates the meaning of fear, so it is a tusk, showing up to this point. As for "in the manner of a mudra, it is binding," "binding" is an explicit expression of a symbol. Why? It is said, "in the manner of a mudra." This shows that at the time of combining all mudras, body, speech, and mind become one vajra, so the combination is the meaning of the vajra fist.

Thus, if the mudras are joined, they will grant the attainment of the desired purpose. Now, I will show the example of the vajra mudra going everywhere. As the Bhagavan is eternal, the Vajrasattva goes everywhere. This means to show that just as Vajrasattva himself is completely transformed into the form of other beings, so also the vajra becomes signs and so on. This means to show that the vajra is also completely transformed into the form of other signs such as hooks. Having understood this, if you meditate, you will quickly attain accomplishment. Thus spoke the signs of all the Bhagavan Tathagatas. The rest is the concluding statement. Now, I will show the secret tantra of the accomplishment of the arising of the binding mudra of all the Tathagatas. Because it is the accomplishment of the arising of the binding mudra of all the Tathagatas, it is called the accomplishment of the arising of the binding mudra of all the Tathagatas. Because it is not known by others, it is secret. The scripture that shows it is the tantra, thus it is said. Moreover, with Vajrasattva and so on, it shows the secret tantra of the accomplishment of the arising of the binding mudra of the Tathagatas. This is also necessary at the time of practice, and after performing the rituals such as entering the mandala of the practice of repeating all the Tathagatas, one should sit in the center. How should one sit? As it is said: "With the vajra posture." The vajra posture is to bend the left leg and first place the right leg on the thigh. Then, bending the right leg and placing the left leg on the right thigh, this is the vajra posture. Is that all that needs to be done? It is said: No. Then what is it? It says: "With the two hands bound in vajra." That is, they should be crossed and placed on top of the lotus posture. "Abiding in the samadhi of Vajrasattva." That is, after doing all the preliminary practices in the order of realization of the mind, if one abides, one will quickly attain Buddhahood, as the Buddha Bhagavan said. Now, how
