Because the fingers are not bound, it is called "left-hand vajra fingers unbound." The right thumb and little finger are bound and connected, and that which has the mark of three points is the mark of three points, and it should be pressed. Thus it is said, extend three fingers of the left-hand vajra finger, and place the right index finger vajra pressed on top of the left-hand three points. Now, in order to show the common mudra from which the remaining mudras arise, it is said, "Of all the vajra families, the left hand is assembled in the main vajra." Because the vajra family is also everything, it is said, "Of all the vajra families." The vajra family refers to the five families such as the vajra king. The left hand of all those vajra families is assembled in the main vajra, which is both the left hand and the vajra, so it is the left-hand vajra. It itself is the cause of the arising of all mudras, so it is the main one. Because it is assembled, it is said, "The left hand is assembled in the main vajra." The way to bind its mudra should be explained. Whose is it? It is the samaya, that is, the various differences of the samaya vidya. Then how should the mudra be bound? Therefore, it is said, "As in the ritual," which means as it is in its aspect. "All the wheel fingertips are joined together," this is the mudra of the vajra illusion wheel, the fingers of the left hand are extended, and all the fingertips are joined together, like this: "All the wheel fingertips are joined together." The mudra of the bell is also the same. Just as it is said in the "Three Realms Wheel": "The index finger relies on the thumb to use." Similarly, "Om is the mudra," just as it is said in the root mandala. "Completely grasping the lion's ear" means that the second joint of the index finger of the left-hand vajra fist is bent, and its base is grasped at the tip of the thumb, this is "Completely grasping the lion's ear." "The flame is universally held," which means extending the left hand and showing it as if it were radiating light.
