Those who believe in a material agent called the "controller" perform bathing and other actions to affirm this view. They also perform bathing and purification to please those who believe in another teaching like the Lesser Vehicle. "Austerity" refers to the fact that the Lesser Vehicle and worldly people live and practice with austerity and intense asceticism, considering it a virtue. Therefore, one should reject those who exhaust their bodies and suffer from afflictions. The word "etc." includes all other forms of asceticism. As stated in the Condensed Contemplation, "Binding and purification are not needed here." This means that binding the doors of body and speech, and purifying through bathing and other means, are not necessary when practicing deity yoga, and therefore should be rejected. The practice of intense austerity should also be rejected. So how is it accomplished? "All Buddhas and great beings." This refers to the five Buddhas and the sixteen wisdom deities. "It is accomplished by merging with oneself." This means that one can choose any one of them and practice merging the three secrets of the deity's body, speech, and mind with one's own body, speech, and mind. This is called merging with oneself, and it is said that it is through this that accomplishment is achieved. Similarly, in the Condensed Collection of All Contemplations, it is said: "The Bodhisattva, possessing the nature of skillful means and wisdom, vajra and bell, the Three Jewels, whether or not they uphold vows, should not abandon faith and aspiration, should not abandon the three vows, and should not torment themselves with austerities and the like." The opponent says: "Then, above it was said not to abandon vows, but here it is said not to torment oneself. If the cause of torment is the vows, then why is it said this way?" The answer is: "What is being rejected here are meaningless actions like the austerities of worldly people, and also the actions of those who strive only for their own benefit like the Lesser Vehicle, and those who hold dualistic views. One should also abandon those who indulge the mind and follow the dictates of body and speech. Here, one should act contrary to those actions and mainly emphasize the mind. Not contradicting the two.

To show that by guarding only these, the goal can be achieved without needing other methods, it is said in this way, and there is no fault. Do not slander the teacher! And so on, these are the categories that should be guarded. Because the teacher is like the Buddha, one should not slander him. Because it will cause the faults of disrespect and abuse of power, do not slander mantras and mudras. The words "wheel," "vajra," "lotus," etc., and any shapes and symbols of mudras made from them, should not be stepped on. If you see images made of dough, etc., do not eat them. The so-called "inferior things" means not to step on old garlands of flowers. Do not step on the shadows of deities. Do not sit on the teacher's seat. Do not step on it with your feet. One should abandon the ten non-virtuous actions from the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and abide in the ten virtuous actions, it is said. The so-called "because of place and time" refers to the place focused on for practice and the time for offering to the noble ones. The debater says: Then, are these things that must be guarded, or are there differences of permission? The answer is: There are also reasons of place and time, not stepping on and stepping on, etc. Those who recite the vajra-force mantra and practitioners who abide in the yoga of the great mudra, such as Vajrasattva, are permitted. If done because of these reasons, it will not cause faults to the yoga. As it is said in the Hetu-vidya Sutra: Ignorance and delusion, as well as laziness or non-remembrance, treading on vajra patterns, etc., will surely break the vows. It is said that not understanding the vajra-force mantra, not practicing the meaning of the great mudra, for the ignorant who do not understand mantra recitation, as well as the lazy who knowingly commit faults, and the careless, if they step on or trample, they will break their vows. Therefore, with all diligence, it means that when drawing mandalas, placing mudras, and starting work, one should diligently possess vajra-force. The so-called "should be examined" means to show that those with wisdom must guard. Especially in the mandala, it refers to drawing the mandala and
