Thus it is said. Its signs and symbols refer to the fact that in order to distinguish body, speech, mind, and secret, its signs or symbols are those mudras that are shown. To arrange in this treatise means that in this glorious Compendium of Reality Tantra, it is arranged and taught in this way. That which is taught in this way is also taught in this way, having observed the minds of those beings who are tamed in such a way. In other tantras, the collection of body and so on, in other yoga tantras, the complete body in which body, speech, and mind are united is considered to be the mudra of commitment. Or, because the great Bodhisattvas do not transcend it, it means that having bound them with the mudra of commitment, the Bodhisattvas do not cause them to transcend it. Because it possesses the commitment of the characteristic of non-transcendence, it is said that because the deities do not transcend the mudra that is bound, that mudra that possesses commitment is called the mudra of commitment. Or, because it does not transcend sleep, it is said that it itself is spoken of as the sound of commitment, because the mudra of commitment itself does not cause transcendence, why? Because the mudra of commitment does not transcend expressing meaning, it is also called commitment. If it is manifested in this way, then the tantra itself also says this, body, speech, and mind are steadfast. And so on, the words are spoken, showing that these mudras arise from the nature of Bodhicitta, and therefore cannot be moved by others. All the Tathagatas also, means that the Tathagatas also do not cause transcendence from that mudra, therefore, from the mudra of commitment itself, it is called commitment, that is its meaning. Then the opponent says, if in this way on the nature of one basis, it shows in many forms of dissimilar characteristics, then how should it be understood in this situation? The answer is, in this respect, commitment itself is the mudra, therefore it is the mudra of commitment. This aspect refers to this aspect of the method of accomplishment. Commitment itself is the mudra, therefore it is

Because it is a samaya mudra, it is called a samaya mudra. The sound of fame is to be understood as being definite in each place, that is to say, although there are cases where the body and so on are called samaya mudras, however, here it is not said that way, but it is necessary to clearly understand what the fame of what is named in the realms of the four great mudras and so on is, therefore, calling the great mudra and so on samaya mudras, means that in some cases, there are also cases where the great mudra and so on are called samaya mudras, although it can be called that way, it should not be called a samaya mudra. The nature of the mind is called a samaya mudra. The opponent says, in the scriptures there are also those who say that the body great mudra and so on are samaya mudras, why is it taught this way here? The answer is, even if it has become the cause of establishment, it means that even if it has become possible to establish, it should not be done that way. The opponent says, then, what kind of nature should those samaya mudras that are taught in that way be understood to belong to? The answer is, those samaya mudras should also be understood to belong to vajra, hook, arrow, joy, etc., these siddhis are called samaya mudras. The opponent says, what is the need to hold such a nature of samaya mudra? The answer is, the need for those is explained by the sound of vajra and so on, it is said in this tantra, that is to say, the deities hold the samaya mudra vajra and so on in their hands, not without necessity and without meaning, but because they hold it in their hands with necessity and meaning. Therefore, in this Compendium of Reality Tantra, those virtues and necessities are explained, what is said as it is? The Blessed One, the being of mind itself, dwells in the heart of Vajrasattva, the samadhi of the Tathagata is, the accomplisher of enlightenment and bodhi. And so on, it is said, among them, the Blessed One, the being of mind itself, refers to the reality of bodhicitta, because that itself has that meaning, therefore, the heart of Vajrasattva
