Therefore, if a practitioner wishes to accomplish the supreme siddhis of the noble ones, then he should focus on whichever deity he wishes to remember, and meditate on the great mudra of that deity's form. In this way, remembrance of the deity's form will arise. Therefore, one should strive to generate remembrance. Therefore, this meditation on the great mudra is the proximate cause for remembering that deity, and is therefore called the characteristic of proximity. Therefore, the meaning of 'this very tantra' is that the meaning explained above is not something self-created by the author, but rather this tantra which gathers together the sole reason, and it clearly shows the thought of overcoming the three worlds. The phrase 'ja skad du zhe na' means 'what follows is said in this way.' The phrase 're zhig 'di nyid las' means 'from this very tantra which gathers together the sole truth, it is shown in this way.' 'Da dka' de bzhin mi shigs pa' means 'difficult to overcome and impossible to destroy by anyone.' 'Gang yin zhe na, rgyal po phyag rgya mchog gi rtag' means 'whatever is the seal of oath established as law by a great king, either a universal monarch or a landowner.' 'Bdag nyid chen po mtshan ma'i gzugs' means 'the supreme mudras of the Tathagata, the king of the three realms, are such that they cannot be broken or harmed by any demons or heretics, and they cannot be overcome or destroyed.' The great self is the Tathagata. His form of the sign of wisdom, etc., is proclaimed as a mudra in order to teach. Furthermore, in 'The Thought of Overcoming the Three Worlds' it is also said, 'sku gsung thugs kyi rdo rje yi,' etc., meaning that from the union of body, speech, and mind in the manner of a vajra, the arising of the four mudras is shown. 'Sku gsung thugs kyi rdo rje' means 'blessed by wisdom, it cannot be resisted by anything, and it destroys other things.' 'Gzugs brnyan gyi ni sbyor ba yis' means 'manifesting the appearance of the deity, placing the sign of speech on the tongue, abiding in the mudra of one's own dharma, and abiding in the wisdom of one's own nature on the mandala of the moon in the heart.'

After placing the mudra, transforming into the attire of the deity one believes in, is to generate pride. Such a union, the characteristic of all mudras is this: all mudras mean complete, the characteristics of the four mudras also arise in this way, and are greatly proclaimed. Thus it is said. On the other hand, "Body, speech, and mind are of vajra nature" means: Body vajra is firm and unchanging, and cannot be destroyed by others. Speech vajra is as it is spoken, and does not change. Mind vajra is the wisdom of suchness, free from grasping and being grasped, and from the nature of body, speech, and mind, the images of Mahamudra and so on appear. The union of images refers to the appearance in the images of the characteristics of the mudras that are in accordance with the qualities of that wisdom. "The characteristics of all mudras are these" refers to the chief of the Tathagata family, the wisdom bodhisattvas such as glorious Vajrasattva, or the characteristics of the four mudras of each deity, which arise from these and are greatly proclaimed. After saying this, it is also said from that very realization that the ultimate truth itself is the mudra. It is also said that because the characteristic of the ultimate truth does not deceive, it is also said in that way. The objector says: Then, the ultimate truth, whose nature is invisible, and the mudra, which has become an image, are both called by one name, will it not become a fault of difference? The answer is: The ultimate truth itself is blessed and appears as the characteristic of the mudra, and through the characteristic of the mudra it is represented and realized, so there will be no fault of its nature being incomplete. Here, saying "image" refers to the mudra, what is it? It refers to the nature of the deity's characteristics, meaning: The characteristic is the attire that appears. The nature refers to the appearance as four types of mudras. Therefore, even for different characteristics, it is said to be an image, meaning: Those four mudras, although different in shape and nature, are also commonly called by the name "image", there is no contradiction, therefore, here for suchness
